Afro that logic could be used in any industry though. So working in corporate America I should expect to be paid less because the company provides services to the public and most of the country is white?

Let's use a simple example: Internet service and TV

I expect my TV and internet service to be reliable, and fast.
I don't care who is behind the switchboard pressing buttons and making shit happen
They can be White, green, yellow, just make sure you are hiring people with SKILLS to make sure my mess is ready.

However, how the people look ON the TV when I watch matters to me.

Does that make sense?

No this doesn't make sense.  People should be paid comparable salaries if they are doing the same job
Especially when u get to the level of a viola Davis.  Viola isn't shaniqua in a Tyler Perry play. She shouldn't be complaining about discrepancies in pay at her level (the highest level). Like......... Who even........

Well, true, but i assumed we were comparing them right NOW.  Meryl has definitely shown a wide array of skills over the years and is more versatile than Viola, no question about it. 

Even taking opportunities and race out of the equation, i can objectively come to that conclusion ssddd

The difference between Tyler Perry and Monique is Tyler Perry had enough ingenuity and drive to create his own shit and make the money he felt he was due. Monique is sitting around with less skill, less drive,  and less business savy but still wanting to be paid an exorbitant amount of money.

And Tyler doesn't pay people their worth either.  He may pay Taraji what she's worth in his movie because Taraji KNOWS her worth but he is doing the same shit all these other people are doing and had been accused of the same shit. That's LITERALLY how Monique's issue with him started

you missed the initial point, and instead of trying to learn what they were telling you, you conflated two issues and tied them together by race, when the issue here isn't race it's talent and skill level

race does play a factor, so does being a woman .... but in this context, with comparisons to Meryl, it's going off of accolades, training, experience, skill. I wouldn't even expect Halle to get up and make that statement if we're being honest, let alone Monique. Now maybe Angela B and Regina King. And that's because skill is a bigger factor than race in this specific micro conversation of inequality in pay.

I've already said in here more than twice  that's when ur resume and your work come into play.  How can Monique ask for equal Pay to viola and Monique doesn't have an equal amount of impressive work? I'm literally in here saying THE OPPOSITE.  I said pay people what they're worth.  Monique isn't worth big money so she shouldn't get big money.  Tyler Perry makes terrible work so his pay should reflect that.  Fortunately for him,  he hustled his way to another income bracket.
