I must give this era of music to Brandy. I see so many musical artist so staged these days, using high budgets, name recognition, sex, brand-standing, features, etc., to sell their craft. These sometimes have their place, but it gets to be a point where it's just cliché, overdone, and unoriginal.

Brandy is different.

She has her own agenda, her own formula, and her own craft with absolutely no comparison. I'm so proud of her single choices Baby Mama (single parent awareness) and Borderline (mental health awareness). But what I admire most is her honesty.

Brandy is not a commercial, smoke 'n mirrors musical artist. B7 is a testament to this, that she can sing her truth and it's amazing. It's not even the songs, the lyrics, the visuals...it's the authenticity of the whole package that makes her a true legend.

She's not just called the Vocal Bible because of her tone, she speaks truth that connect with the heart and soul.

:lopsided: This whole fucking part!!!!

Arcstrider

It's a wonderful album and, almost, everything that I wanted from her. I think it'll be a slow burner for people, but a lot of what you said is true!

⚡ Flow like lightning. Strike like thunder. 🌀

We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark;
the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light.

REALucid

Whew  :gorlonfire:

I love the authenticity. You can just tell this is the album she's been wanting to make for a long time
Used to write our names in car fog

I think I might have my class pick a song from this album this fall and I'll give them extra credit if they contextualize it well haha

The album is cohesive and you can tell this was very personal for her. Some of the lyrics cut deep as fuck and give you more insight into her life like never before. This is what the starz truly wanted from her for a long time this is an album that will grows on you. The general public just needs to warm to it tho cause it isn't the traditional r&b but I love how progressive Bran is with each album sonically she's like the "R&B version of Madonna" when it comes to image and reinventing her genre of music if that makes sense. I have the album on repeat  :gorlonfire:

🔥🔥🔥

D.I.E.G.O.

Her most honest project. You can FEEL it. It's a masterpiece.

I get want you're saying I think, but Brandy took off the filters; she is no one's muse, isn't dictated by the status quo, and (at least this era) following her own, uncharted path, both lyrically and managerially. It's when I realized this that B7 became such an easy listen.
