He's talking about the word DARK in general. It is historically negative, regardless of what its attached to usually. I've not known anyone to be offended by chocolate.
Que just corrected Mel for calling him chocolate. :plzstop: :plzstop:

And QUEtie u know i ride or die for u, not singling you out.

u guys know what i mean. this isn't a one person problem nor it is an isolated incident. it's a community issue that we are discussing.
I see ur whole stance on it but I wasn't really offended by him calling me chocolate  :dead:

but we're not talking about "dark"

we're talking about dark skin. and people who cannot stand the reference of "dark skin", or even "chocolate"

explain what's associated with "chocolate" that makes it understandable that someone is offended.
is that also associated with burnt chitlins? paris in flames? twin towers burning?
I said the word dark itself, alone, is Negative word.

Couple that with skin, and the fact that skin color is a big isssue, you have a problem
You're not addressing my question though regarding chocolate.

There are ppl who will be offended by being called chocolate.....what is chocolate associated with that is so horrible that it merits offense?
um, chocolate is DARK

Herb.

I think the whole team dark and team light and team caramel mess is late as well.

However, colorism does matter in our community.
It's quite a big deal actually, maybe the biggest.

We can't just brush it under the rug like we do everything else.
