Outside of race, the word "dark" just is a negative word anyway.

Its associated with hell, nasty chocolate, burnt food, and oil, death, disease.

I see why it is an issue for some.
I don't think of hell when I see the term "dark skin"

nor do i think of someone overcooking a steak

:plzstop: :plzstop: :plzstop: :plzstop: :plzstop:
'dark'
Implies something unknown, dark and mysterious
And the mysterious is scary and curious to us

Herb.

but we're not talking about "dark"

we're talking about dark skin. and people who cannot stand the reference of "dark skin", or even "chocolate"

explain what's associated with "chocolate" that makes it understandable that someone is offended.
is that also associated with burnt chitlins? paris in flames? twin towers burning?

Herb.

I said the word dark itself, alone, is Negative word.

Couple that with the word skin, and the fact that skin color is a big isssue, you have a problem

He's talking about the word DARK in general. It is historically negative, regardless of what its attached to usually. I've not known anyone to be offended by chocolate.

You're not addressing my question though regarding chocolate.

There are ppl who will be offended by being called chocolate.....what is chocolate associated with that is so horrible that it merits offense?
