I know they hate eachother but ugh to have someone like TC vocal produce. He knows how to layer. Did you guys hear his impression of Borderline?

Yeah this ain't touching Afro. For as much as this was touted as her most personal album, Afro has it beat. I mean I Tried, Focus, Should I Go!!!???? Deeply personal without having to say it. It's got some of my fave songs of all time on there  :stressed:

Saying that everyone who loves B7 is a blind follower is a ridiculous statement. And if Brandy says B7 is more personal than Afro, then that's what it is. She literally wrote B7 how would the songs on Afro even be more personal? :dead:

All I know is if I EVER see anybody comparing this to Afrodisiac again, I'm slicing

I listened to that album non-stop on a loop with Southern Hummingbird for over a year str8!!

Do you realize what type of alberm Afrodisiac IS?!  :plzstop:

B7 is cute, but let's be honest... the mess could've been a lil cute EP with Say Something and Rather Be

and it's crazy, even tho I LOVE those songs .... I kinda stopped listening to them a week ago.

maybe that's where promotion comes in, cause cute videos may make me press play some more :dead:

Agree mostly cause the songs are so sad. I'll prlly revisit in the fall ..It's still a hott Gorl summer where I am lolZ

Sorry I'm still trying to find where anyone said this? The thread is only 5 pages so don't editorialize  :dead:

I'm happy for those who like the album. I'm responding to being told to hush or that I'm not a true fan if I have issues with the new album.

B7 is fake personal. She's writing about mental illness and using it as metaphors without truly experiencing it. We all know how Bran can put on that fake sincere front, and some of the songs on this album give me that. But that's just my opinion so you can have yours and let me have mine  :)

I read the blind follower claim somewhere in this thread, it was directed to whoever wrote that (too lazy to check who it was). of course we can have different opinions, I respect yours too. Don't you think maybe brandy is only now downplaying the mental health part of the album, cause she feels uncomfortable speaking about it? Cause in one interview she definitely did say that she speaks on mental health on B7.

I'm sure that's a possibility. I guess my point is if you're going to use clinical terms like Borderline, Bipolar disorder, schizo, retarded, etc. you need to go ahead and commit to it and own it. It's a copout to say all that stuff and then distance yourself from it immediately after the fact.

no shade, but she also admitted to being bipolar and having other issues
so how would sis really know. Brandy is a "whatever space I'm in now" type of person

that's why she always shuns her previous works, instead of recognizing and acknowledging the special quality of the music she created in THAT moment.

but I'll let yawl see ... when B8 comes out with a different producer and sound she'll be saying the same mess and yawl will move right along  :kii: :kii:

I get your point. she's not perfect though and I've accepted that. actually makes her more relatable in a way.

brandy is an artist. She is a perfectionist. She is really critical of herself. We can appreciate her art even if she talks bad about it years later. It's okay.
