really! Yes brandy has vocals but in order for her to maintain healthy chords she needs to avoid smoking. I've learn in the industry you always have to growth vocally an what I heard on b7 just wasn't vocally magically. Some of the notes she was hitting shouldn't have been that hard to push out.

And also this.  Why would u be looking for her to sound the same as she did over a decade ago? She still has range tho.  Begging and pleading,  freedom rings,  etc are evidence of that.  But people use their voice differently on different projects.  This is her B7 sound.  If u can't get with it then this just isn't the album 4 u. Sit back and wait for the next one.  Hopefully that suits u better

I don't have anything rational to offer to this thread because I'm obsessed with Brandy ....and vocally she could no wrong ..almost never...some songs and vocals haven't been the best but I admire her passion and her desire to continue to grow and be a leader in R&B. I see Brandy like a R&B "cool" mom like they said in mean girls. She might even sex it up a bit more with the music too. I just really admire her journey as an artist. Can't wait to see what's next it will be waaaay better than B7..if that's even possible...just a hunch

I think Brandy still has amazing range. Her voice is defiantly not as light and airy as before. But I think that has to due to the fact that after she had Syrai her voice changed which is common with women after they give birth. I think the smoking added some grittiness to her tone. But you have to remember there was a period when Bran was working out HARD. I mean she was boxing and playing tennis like everyday so during that period her breath control was amazing. I mean look at all the 2/11 era performances. Her breath control was on 100. I just think that for a singer like Brandy she has to find that balance of working out and smoking less. I'll never forgot after her show in Oakland she asked my friend is they can get her and Ryan some of that good Oakland weed

alot of the older songs were done and practiced with longer vocal comps phsycially shes very comfortable with those
now baby mama is one where she implemented the micrro vocal comps method and and we dont have  her singin full lines from that yet

but i dont think she would smoke much right before a performance anyway
and the re records of those vocals while amazing you can still hear shes not able to replicate anytone like yall say
