I think I'm realizing another issue I have with Mo lol
she doesn't really have dynamics to her songs. It's like she starts at 10 and stays there lol. There's never a build up or a journey...it's very...abrasive lol
I can see why people like that tho. Especially from the 90s era.
And now that I think about my favorite Monica songs, she's honestly laid back ie Down 4 Whatever, Getaway...to Scott's point, it really is based on preference.
