My friend was telling me how last night, it was his first time feeling comfortable letting his son watch a speech from the president. The fact that he hasn't been able to do that for the past four years literally makes my stomach turn.

Here are some of how they helped people and by extension Black people:

- The ACA made it so that kids could stay on their parents Health Insurance until they turned 26.
- Parents were given $7000 trade in credit for buying a new car as part of the Cash For Clunkers program.
- Increased Tax Refunds for having kids.
- Pell Grants in college were expanded under Obama.
- The Democrats allowed former felons to qualify for SBA loans.
- The incarceration of black people went down due to Federal sentencing reform under Obama. That was one of the very first things undone under Trump by Jeff Sessions's Justice Department.
- Created an entire program to ensure that HBCU's got federal funding. They got 4 billion in funding a year. This was further expanded by Trump.
- Removed military grade equipment from Police Departments countrywide. Reversed by Trump.
- More persons were able to refinance their mortgages. Most persons saved an average of $40,000.
- They changed the requirements and lowered the fees on FHA loans. Black people using FHA loans increased 50%.

Not to mention the fact that many were FINALLY able to get Health Insurance. For the FIRST FUCKING TIME. You keep talking about Justice Reform. It was a BI-PARTISAN team of Democrats and Republicans that got it done. That effort was spearheaded PRIMARILY by Van Jones.

i'm ready for a president that's going to:

- try to calm the country down instead of agitating the racial tension even further
- repair relationships with out allies on the national stage
- protect out healthcare instead of attack it with no other plan in place
- put forth a covid response that will help up get this economy back on track and kid back in school
- put forth a stimulus plan that will help out small businesses re-open
- appoint people to cabinet with experience instead of cronies like betsy devos
- try to fix the damn climate


this will help black businesses re-open, ensure blacks with pre-exiting conditions (like diabetes and HIV, which is run rampant in the black community) are protected, black children get back to school so they do no fall even further behind in an education system that is already riddled with inequalities, and help black folks with student debt who studies show on average owe more than other races.
