I really adored that segment of the other singer's praising her, c'mon Queen Naija representing.  Loved that lil carttoon.  I'm really in love with era y'all. This is how you promote a fucking album, she finally gets it!! The performances were all great brandy was high spirited, her fashions was good, the choreo was tight and nice. Say something was the standout with its front and center vocals, the camera work, the dramatics of it all!!!!!!! It was the high note during what about us for me......

I do like that she does a new pre record for EVERY performance :dead:
That was also the reason I never care. It's a different vocal each time

!!!!
If it was the same pre Vocal everytime I'd be Pissed

I DON'T REALLY CARE FOR THE STAGE VOCAL AND PRODUCTION OF "BORDERLINE".
I THINK SHE COMPLETELY CHANGES THE FEEL OF THE SONG TOO MUCH.
IT SOUNDS LIKE A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT SONG. I FEEL IT'S TOO EARLY TO GIVE THAT SONG
THAT MUCH OF A LIVE PERFORMANCE REBIRTH.
PEOPLE WHO NEVER HEARD THE SONG YET WON'T EVEN RECOGNIZE THE STUDIO/ALBUM
VERSION WHEN THEY HEAR IT.
I THINK IT'S OVERDONE TOO SOON.
I AGREE! That's really why i can't get in.  The only performance I've liked is billboard.  I wouldn't so much say the song sounds different but it FEELS different
This is my pass to say WHATEVER tf I wanna say about the mess she releases so I don't wanna hear SHIT! Baby mama is a mess of a song btw

I wasn't a Borerline fan like some of y'all but it sounds good live. I don't think it's a good "performance" song if that makes sense?

Oof I just saw the Say Something performance and I liked that one a lot better. Her tone was kind of reminscient of her BET Right Here performance which I LOVE. Still obviously lipped but her choices were more believable than the Soul Train one. These runs on the second verse

:ack:

I actually loved this performance as a music video. It just doesn't sound live but the choreography is great. The dancers are really nice and the styling is amazing. She really stepped it up. She is also improving when it comes to performing and confidence.

!!!
People want her to give a Schizo, unstable aesthetic performance with the song, but the song itself doesn't translate like that live

And too much of the songs sweet spots are in the backgrounds to work live unless she has really good backup singers.

Annie

I think it was a really nice showcase for people who don't know her yet. It is amazing so many celebs and people from the industry gave her love.

I hope in the future she will find a balance. Maybe a bit more live vocal and less movements..it is too distracting for me..looks very rushed at times. But maybe it is Frank Gatson's influence. Also some of the songs are overloaded with runs and the structure (plus the sweetness) of the song gets lost. (Oh and the mixing..She sings along to a chorus but those vocals are really soft so this makes the lipping so obvious. And it sounds too much like a studio recording with autotune.)

Less is more, you don't have to prove yourself everytime Bran. I hope she allows more imperfections/raw vocals in the future..some songs could also use a more calm vibe but I can see she is working hard and I appreciate the growth. Keep the stylist, keep the dancers! Keep the hair. She looked beautiful.

I love Borderline and have listened to it everyday,  MULTIPLE times a day since it's release,  no lie. I don't think that it's not a performance song. I think it's not meant to be performed in the way that she's performing it.  ALOT of the magic of borderline is in the vibe and u can hear the intention within the song.  It's not meant to be performed like it's some SHOWY type of song because it isn't that.  Definitely something more subdued,  not necessarily acoustic but sumn that feels more intimate like that, some good background singers, etc. I think a more stripped performance would require a REAL live vocal and Brandy aint about to give u that, so we get this.

I changed my mind after rewatching she slayed. She will bring in new fans too ack

Andthecategoryis...

IT'S NOTHING WRONG W/ WHAT BORDERLINE SOUNDS LIKE Y'ALL COMPLAIN TOO MUCH.

She just gave us three different performance sounds of Borderline and I'm here for it. Its not gonna to sound exactly like the track because of the way the song is written and produced and I already expected that so get it out of your heads. I feel like this performance was more subdued. I can see her doing it live soon with a band and background singers and a nasty saxophone addition during the outro with those soft vocals whewwwwww.
I'm bossy/I'm the first girl to scream on a track

!!!!

The magic of BL gets lost when she does too much. Her performance last night was more in line with what I think she should give. A more emo, intimate, scaled back performance would pull in more listeners.
