This was hard to sit through, glad I did because I would have written her off as another entitled mixed girl. At least she recognises that she has some issues with Blackness she needs to address.

but I could not imagine being raised by a white family, and being disconnected from my black family

being surrounded by people who look absolutely nothing like me and have no interest in teaching more about my inherent culture  . How can she connect with blackness when she isnt immersed in it?

thats why I feel that "mixed-ish" spin off is absolutely necessary. For people like her Who have one white parent and one black parent the mixed experience goes way further than just an aesthetic and people asking "wow what r u? "

That's not speaking or touching on an experience. It's literally just taking mixed people and presenting them as 100% African American .
