This was hard to sit through, glad I did because I would have written her off as another entitled mixed girl. At least she recognises that she has some issues with Blackness she needs to address.

i think it's very easy for people to write things off as "Oooh boo hoo look y'all she crying mixed tears 😩😩😩😩😩 awww!! 🙄 "

but I could not imagine being raised by a white family, and being disconnected from my black family

being surrounded by people who look absolutely nothing like me and have no interest in teaching more about my inherent culture  . How can she connect with blackness when she isnt immersed in it?

thats why I feel that "mixed-ish" spin off is absolutely necessary. For people like her Who have one white parent and one black parent the mixed experience goes way further than just an aesthetic and people asking "wow what r u? :ohwow: "

Im trying to understand how a person like her really couldnt identify with Blackness through her life
there's plenty of light-skin non bi-racial ppl out there that look like her. Was her white parent brainwashing her?
She has bi-racial cousins too, so Im doubtful that the white ppl in her family are very openly racist cus clearly there's more than one of them making Black kids
hmmm

It's def some racism

And it makes sense . Just because Becky decided to let dayquan cum inside of her doesn't mean everyone in beckys family is gonna welcome the bvy with open arms and embrace her

And we have to take this woman's age into consideration as well. She's in her mid 30s  , which means she did not grow up in the era where shows and representation like "mixed ish" existed . She wasn't able to perch in front of youtube and watch people talk about the stuff she is tackling

It's super important for people to see those who look like them and that they can relate to. Especially if those people represent the inherent racial diversity they have.

but the thing is, this girl has bi-racial cousinS plural so there's more than one Becky in the family smashing Blacks, if it even is a female it could be a white father
its not sounding like her white family is that harsh on dealing with Black ppl
I need to browse this girl's channel because this is not adding up

and if shes 30+ shes seen the Cosby Show with Lisa Bonet and the other girl portrayed as Black women with her same skin tone, then you have Sister Sister, A Different World, Tisha Campbell on Martin
there was plenty of women with her skin tone and overall look out there

youre referring to a bunch of women who were presented as 100% Black in those shows when they are not.

Lisa bonets parents and grandparents were All portrayed as Black in that Cosby  show. Same for sister sister .

That's not speaking or touching on an experience. It's literally just taking mixed people and presenting them as 100% African American .

And a lot of people actually find an issue with that (erasure)...but that's a whole other conversation .

But there's a difference between just seeing someone who may look like you and having a conversation And experience touched on

Wait , for sister sister they had ONE episode where they met their white father I believe ?

and that was it. He disappeared and it was back to them having a whole Black ass experience on that show.

If u missed that ONE episode u definitely missed the mention of them having a white parent .

yes exactly they were bi-racial and portraying Black characters, so why couldn't this girl see herself as Black too is what Im saying and shes old enough to know that and have known it for years if shes 36
