The movie wasn't about Spider-Man, it was about venom,  so even if spiderman had shownup, it STILL wouldn't be a reboot of Spiderman. Spider-Man's story isn't the central theme of the movie,  just like 101 Dalmatians isn't the central theme of Cruella.
