a lot of people take these tests expecting it to say "ur Jamaican" or "ur Puerto Rican".

They see a breakdown of African and European and are like "ummm where's the Puerto Rican?"

So many times it's not an intentional disassociation from blackness or surprise they're black, but innocent ignorance as to how nationality has little to do with ur DNA .

But then there are some who are genuinely shocked they have African/black roots bvvvvvv

I'd say one video that had my mouth dropped and confused was this one .

She had no clue she was Black. And said that people always said she was a whole bunch of races , including Russian.

I don't like to invalidate anyone's stated experience but , I was really confused as to how she didn't know she was Black her whole life.

I can obviously understand "hmm I know I'm black but what ELSE are people seeing? In addition to my Blackness". But to just completely not know who she was at all really shocked me. And she didn't seem like she was trolling.
