Growing up, I liked Prince more. I guess even as a kid, I preferred drama over comedy. Prince had its comedic moments, but it was more family, drama. Martin was like a bunch of Mad Tv skits. Prosthetic makeup and drag queens and giant attack rats. And thats fine for Martin but Prince was more my speed.
Martin was funnier, no shade. Fresh Prince was great but I laughed more when watching Martin.
Martin of course. Love Fresh tho. So damn nice
Martin was more funny and it still laughable now
Fresh Prince is good too but the jokes aren't as funny now in 2016 is that makes sense
Fresh Prince was more of a dramedy where as Martin was a kii

yea
It was also a little too hood for my taste lol like I liked Next Friday and even vonc II society. Just couldn't watch a whole show about it lol
U keep referring to martin as "hood", can u expound on what exactly was hood about martin? U sound like some clueless ass white bitch that's calling sum1 hood because they wear hats n hoodies. Shut yo simple ass up
Welp guess it's "settled"
:blessed:
Prince had more substance, more depth.
Martin was just straight up hood, real and hilarious. Gonna have to go with that alone for its relatability.
Martin easily
What I love about 'Martin' is that a lot of the comedy was in the moment. He improved so much of that shit and they just let the cameras roll. There are so many scenes where you can see the cast is trying not to laugh, or when you hear Tichina's loud ass cackle off camera :dead:
Hillary was the best thing about 'Fresh Prince'. She used to crack me up.

Wow Stale Prince got mf lashed in here
I hated how in some episodes of the fresh prince they tried to give Soap opera! Young & the Rest'! but I preferred when they kept it light and funny. Sometimes the dramatic mess worked and sometimes I was just like... is this rly necessary :udontlookok:
Plea'!

I never heard Tichina laughing lol Imma start listening for it.
But Gina is half way in the laughter in every other scene which makes it that much funnier
How could you NOT find Martin funny? I just can't imagine

Martin was comedic genius.
Him, Cole, and Pam kept me in stitches

ig martin was more slapstick comedy, which I never find funny
I think Fresh Prince had better writing, though. They had a few drama-filled, serious episodes that Martin would have never been able to pull off, like when Will met his father.
That said, Martin was funnier and it never gets old, so >>>>>

That, and I think Martin was surrounded by a funnier cast.
Besides Will, no one else except maybe Carlton was actually funny.
On Martin, the whole main cast is funny. And the show really had a neighborhood of recurring characters that were all funny and iconic: all of Martin's characters, Ms. Geri, Bro Man, Hustle Man, Big Shirley, etc.
Will was funnier than Martin :dead:

there is actually a similar episode on Martin when Tommy's dad

there's dramatic scenes on Martin for sure
But yeah, Martin had a bunch of archetypal, one-dimensional characters that never really went anywhere. And they weren't cute :udontlookok:
Martin was HOOD. :uhh:
aint shit wrong about being hood or the hood as long as you aint hurting nobody.
Certain small things on Martin make me scream, no matter how many times I see it or think about it.
Like how Martin was waking up from dreaming about Pam all night... he walks into his own kitchen groggily, and Bro Man is in there fixing a sandwich talking about he usually has the place to himself this time of night. :guys: :kii: :kii: :kii:

All Martin did was scream and get rowdy. Nothing about his persona was humorous. Thank God for TiChina. She saved Everybody Hates Chris too
Cole too

the drama during their argument/break-up scenes

TiChina's demeanor was hilarious, on top of her screaming and shouting. She's the better comedic actor. I didn't see Martin's use of comedic timing like... At all. If I'm wrong, post a clip or two and prove me wrong.
Will, Raven, and TiChina all are more gifted at making the audience uproar in kiis than Martin.

yeah them running around on the beach throwing a toy raccoon at each other was...something
Martin was 100000000x funnier, but Fresh Prince always had a message. There were episodes when we all cried down. Like when Will's dad didn't show up.
Overall, I will give it to Martin.
The last season was trash, but so was light skin Aunt Viv.

One thing I didn't like on Prince is that they would make people or situations appear out of thin air, and then it would never be mentioned again. That's not good, consistent writing.
For instance, Lisa Turtle guest starred as Carlton's girlfriend who got pregnant, even though she was never mentioned then or later. All of Will's girls would be a serious relationship, and then disappear never to be referenced again. Even Nia Long, and they almost got married. :uhh:
Just like Ashley recorded a demo, had a song blow up, and then ended her career all in a span of two episodes, and it was never mentioned later. :usureuok:
Roseanne was great a balancing consistent writing with kikis.
There was nothing ghetto about Martin. :uhh:
It was two people in a relationship, along with their friends. Both were employed, Gina had a college education, and lived regular black lives. Everyone was employed.
Except Tommy.
Martin didn't have good writing period :udontlookok:
