The whole ad is just plain dumb tbh.
Who comes up with this shit?
No lts not racist the "woke" girls love to reach
Y'all didn't think it was odd that the beer only passed by dark skinned people and then stopped at the light skinned girl which cued the caption "sometimes lighter is better"
:guys:
I feel like these types of ads are done intentionally to spark a debate and get free promotion. It's like modern marketing 101 to offend people and raise awareness for a new product.
How is the video racist if blacks were included in the first place not to mention ethnic Caribbean styled music is even being played in the background? And the" lighter is better" is clearly referring to the taste of the beer and the lower calories compared to the regular one. People are so dumb.

I think that companies will have to be a lot more mindful of what they're putting out.
Like, actually forming some sort of Sensitivity Team to screen mess before it hits the TV. This company just wasted a bunch of money on an ad that no one wants to see.
Even a Black owned company like Shea Moisture came under fire really hard - it was another instance where I felt it wasn't intentional but they definitely earned a lashing. I'm sure they learned from it.
It's just not the time in America's history to just be releasing anything you'd like without really having someone to look at it from every possible angle. Because someone easily could wrap a "this is racist" mess around the commercial and it'd make perfect sense.
White people are freakin' oblivious to a lot of things because they've never had to deal with it. I guarantee you that if a Black person was in charge of approving that ad we never would have seen it.
!!!!

And these methods are tacky but they work. Viral controversy is an easy way to boost brand visibility these days because the girls are always outraged over everything. At the end of the day it's all publicity.
The people they're targeting won't give a damn about who this offends anyway.
We won't be hearing about Heineken's stock dropping like Snapchats. Didn't hear it happening for Shea or H&M either. Yeah the ad or commercial got pulled or whatever the but that isn't putting a dent in their pocket.
Alcohol may be huge with POC, (that's another issue) but this is European brand, a Dutch brand at that :dead:
America isn't that big on alcohol like Europe
You think the local drunk is gonna boycott over something as subvert as this?
I guarantee more than half of these advertisements are in low income black communities with people that won't give a damn.
This is just another form of promo for them tbh.
and black people ain't drinking no damn BEER
I'm not surprised to see an ad in the hood. I'm sure there's a black hair care store around the corner owned by asians who exploit money from people living there but don't bother pouring back money into the community.
I'm not arguing, I'm just saying they don't care and it won't hurt them lol
Quote from: herbie on March 29, 2018, 11:57:52 AM
So is your argument that Heineken doesn't need/care about Black business - and that their focus is White people...
or is your argument that they just want to release racist ads for fun because they know they'll be no consequence due to Black people in the hood being too drunk to notice.
I'm confused now.
I think his point is they don't really care about niggers
or Nicki's release date
Look at all the other big European & American brands recently
Pepsi, Nivea, H&M, Dove...they had backlash for 2 weeks but they're still trading :dead:
It's all promo
QuotePaul MacKenzie-Cummins, managing director of Clearly PR Marketing and Communications, thinks some brands are using race to grab people's attention.
"They're clever people, those who work in ad agencies. They're very skilled and have huge budgets and are under increasing pressure to raise the profile of their client's brand.
"It's an ultra-competitive market and the retail space has never been as competitive as what it is now. They need to do something to get their voices seen and heard."

Sure SOME black people drink Heneiken just like SOME black people wear Ambercrombie & Fitch, but blacks are neither's target market or main market like Jayd said, so losing their coin won't punt a dent in their pockets.

"Craft Beer" is a very specific type of beer. One that's made in a traditional setting/small brewery. Think of craft beer companies as the independent artists of the beer industry. Mom/Pop shops.

Anyway, Jayden posted receipts and nobody has been able to discredit/refute them with actual valid facts.
Black people aren't major consumers of any "flop" craft beer company affiliated with them.

:dead:
It's based off of craft beer because nobody on the opposing side has posted an actual receipt, so all we have to go on is what Jayden posted.
Heineken owns some of the biggest craft beer companies in the states and across the pond. They entered the craft beer business years ago.
Craft beer consumers are over 70% white.
It's not hard to put two and two together.

So until he posts a receipt about a large malt beer company and what percent of the consumers are white

Well so far the notion that Black people do drink beer (like that) hasn't been proven. The only stats flying around are ones that pretty much say they don't drink "craft" beer. Not seeing how the distinction changes anything. If they're not drinking the cheap shit they surely aren't drinking whatever the alternative is- in comparison to their counterparts.

So basically to wrap everything up.
Blacks and white are neck and neck for some big beer brands, but white demolish them when it comes to craft beer.
Now using common sense this would mean that white people not only consume more beer, but enjoy more of a variety as well? Breweries kinda specialize in serving a zillion different types of mess instead of just one brand...right?

It's common sense.
Beer itself is culturally white, it always has been, it's one of those things black people don't tend to gravitate to like they would with Ciroc for example :dead:
There is a world beyond America, and Hein' sell more beer in Europe than they do in the states, where there a lot more white people, therefore their core audience isn't black people.

I see more generalizations are being made.
Stick to the numbers guys. Ray's given us cold hard stats.
The numbers don't seem to say that "Blacks don't gravitate towards beer".
The numbers say that Blacks are the biggest consumers of regular beer.
Don't just talk - back up this "common sense" with numbers.
from 2007, stats from America.
There is world beyond your country, Beer isn't an American thing, it's a WORLD thing and it's a culturally a white thing.
:dead:
Why I'm I even wasting my time :dead:
It was in poor taste. I mean why did the beer have to slide by 3 Black people before reaching the White folks?
Then "Lighter is better" popping on the screen?
They tried it.
I'm screaming at y'all trying to reduce craft beer down to "unknown flop companies" when it's mentioned in every article related to the big beer companies.
Not to mention it's market share in the US, which is like quadruples Heineken's, and they crank out millions of more barrels a year in the states too.
Heineken dominates craft worldwide, but in territories dominated by white people.

More fun facts. Nice but -
This argument was never really about Europe. At least not for me.
I already said that maybe things are different over across the pond.
The article Jayden posted begins with a scene in Brooklyn and focuses on American racism. So I assumed he was discussing American people/culture as well.
He said literally said on page 2 Quote from: Guilty on March 29, 2018, 11:53:45 AM
And even after that he said black people don't consumer BEER like that, and they really don't. In America it's neck and neck for the most part with white people, and these are just based on small studies.
Blacks can't really be major consumers of beer like that if they pay craft beer absolute dust. Clearly white spend MORE coin since craft beer is more expensive than cheap big brand beer, and they obviously enjoy more varities since they go to breweries.

Kraft beer is very hip and trendy and got a serious following that?s why the big commercial beer brands are snatching them up left, right and center.
I?d go as far as saying that the Kraft beers in pubs are just as big of not bigger than the commercial brands.
The commercial brands just have the mass production and retail edge (for now)

If black people cared for beer like that and were really into it then the craft beer numbers wouldn't be so astronomically different between demographics.

But Sinny to detail it out...
Like Bre said they just wanted to argue.
They tried to take one of Jayden's posts and run with it as if there isn't at least one black person on planet earth who drinks beer.
The point was that they aren't major consumers of beer, especially to the point where taking away their coin could do actual damage to a brand, and one like Heineken whose biggest markets are outside of the US. Even being a big brand in the US it only holds 4% of the market because it's just one of a zillion different companies.
Facts were presented that these brands hold strategy meetings to involve race somehow to stir up controversy.
Facts were presented that blacks pay craft beer absolute dust.
Facts were presented that Heineken entered the craft beer business and bought out some of the largest companies in the US.
Facts were presented that the MAJOR consumers of Heineken in the US are generally Asian, followed by hispanics.
Facts were also presented that as of 2007 blacks and whites were neck and neck with select beer brand companies. Whites edging out blacks in certain companies and vice versa.
Whites are consumer of big beer brands and smaller craft beer companies. Pretty much all and any kind of beer.
Blacks are consumers of select CHEAP big beer brands only and that's because these brands advertise their products to anyone living in low income areas.
So in conclusion blacks are not big beer drinkers like that as Jayden said.

Lol black people drinking beer was your solo argument which was never refuted. You've been arguing something that's already common sense.
They're not the core audience or target demographic for these beer brands nor are they the majority consumers for Heineken. The was the point Jayden and I were coveying.
Everything posted in here only supports the fact that whites are generally bigger consumers and lovers of all beer (brand is irrelevant) and anyone living in low income areas will buy cheap beer.

Where were you wrong here?
Or in any of the previous posts?
:diddraispoot:
Wow this stayed on topic
Look at us maturing

:feelinmyself:
god damn
Well of course black people drink beer
Why are you being so...stout?
Why do you keeping spinning and screaming ?BLACK PEOPLE DRINK BEER!?
I said black people dont drink beer like THAT, however I worded it, you should?ve been smart enough to read between the lines.
I don?t know what all that extra shit is, but I?m implying that Heineken does NOT have a strong black core audience, so even if they boycott over this Ad, (which was done on purpose to stir up more controversy and sales) they are not going to make a dent in their wallet.
Even if stats show black and white being neck and neck for SELECT beers and even then that was a small study in the US, the US isn?t their ONLY market out of the 180 countries they sell to.
White people have been drinking beer for centuries, its one of Europe?s oldest exports. Hence why Craft Beers are predominately dominated by white men.
Beer/Heineken is still a culturally and historically been a white thing.
It?s a European company and in Europe, where there MAIN audience and SALES are, where there are MORE whites than blacks, is consumed by them 10x over :dead:
Like fuck :uhh:
You and Herbert really want to get the last word all the time huh?
The world's biggest beer drinkers

Germany - 104.7
Namibia - 102.7
Poland - 99

I can?t.
Point proven.
Racial statistics can mean shit when an entire country is mostly one color
Wait I'm not getting involved

So basically to wrap everything up.
Blacks and white are neck and neck for some big beer brands, but white demolish them when it comes to craft beer.
Now using common sense this would mean that white people not only consume more beer, but enjoy more of a variety as well? Breweries kinda specialize in serving a zillion different types of mess instead of just one brand...right?
:diddraispoot:
It's common sense.
Beer itself is culturally white, it always has been, it's one of those things black people don't tend to gravitate to like they would with Ciroc for example :dead:
There is a world beyond America, and Hein' sell more beer in Europe than they do in the states, where there a lot more white people, therefore their core audience isn't black people.
bbvvvbbbbbbbbbbbb
Is there a black handbook I don?t own :diddraispoot:

I can see that being true. Ppl who drink beer are trash! I?m sure the white trash in general buys whichever off brand one is the cheapest.
Classy based ppl drink premium vodka and gin. :raycharles2urmess:
