This is Brandy's first award show performance in I don't know long. Very exciting! I'm glad she's doing a new song instead of giving a nostalgic tea.
Borderline has slowed down and is slowing down on radio and in streams. Was at 4.0 million audience impressions last week and now its at 3.4. I've never been for it being a single. I dont like the No Tomorrow (Remix) - what we hrd at least. But we know Brandy loves to go back in the studio and re-record vocals 10 diff times until she gets it perfect so maybe we didnt hear the final version. I hope so at least. Lets see what the live gives. Borderline hasnt created any buzz. I'd want a Borderline perf tho transitioned into No Tomorrow.

This era has truly been a movie. From the album, to Moesha, to verzuz, and now billboard. Loved all the new photos, her finding her image (despite what others may want including me), staying positive, and being herself.
This era has been really easy to enjoy. Soon as you think a step is missed she swoops right in. I love to see it

But I think in this case and occasion, HYE would've been more appropriate b/c that's her solo #1 hit. Its not lackluster, its ICONIC and well written and easily one of the most adjustable Brandy songs to listen to for the general public because her voice and tone is at the forefront. I'm so tired of her performing that song though and I def get what you mean...she acts like that's her greatest song or only hit half the time. I just hope she performs it with a live band and its more stripped and natural vs all that extra funk she be putting on it.

!!! I'm here to celebrate the good. No artist gets it right every single time (except maybe Beyoncé :kii) so I find it disparaging when it comes to folk criticizing Brandy's every move. It's her Indie project and she debuted Top 20 as an Indie R&B from the 90's. That's a miracle tbh. And I think it wise we celebrate that! And she's going to continue to grow as a writer, her melodies will get better and when her next project releases (hopefully the pandemic is lifted by that point), she'll really give it its just due.

Bran has been much better but 100 interviews of the same questions and topics ain't doing it for me. Stand outs: Verzuz, Billboard Awards, 2 videos and you can throw Moesha in there but that just happened to come on Netflix during this time.

Chile I'm tryna tell yah, the demos did sound better although I love Borderline and SAML. I do wish she kept some of the harmonies and that damn church grunt she does in the song tho. SAML I like the original better but the stacks and distorted sound is cool as well...I think that's the message she is trying to convey.
