It's interesting how people all of a sudden buy albums when someone dies...

We're talking bout Bowie, someone who kept re-inventing himself musically and whose image had a huge influence in pop culture.
But yea, Aaron Carter.

Most times, it's just that people who've never heard of the artist until they've died. You would be surprised at how many people never even heard of Bowie until he died.I can remember the news of Aaliyahs death being everywhere.CNN even halted regular programming for days to report on it.Her album sales increased by 500%.And Jenni Rivera's(I never heard of until she died) death received lots of press sales increased over 1,000%.Curiosity basically.

I don't think it is "all of a sudden". This is typically what happens when someone who actually made some contributions to music or was a major talent passes.

For instance, Natalie Cole didn't see a surge in sales after her passing and didn't get a #1 album either. David Bowie on the other hand is a legend who did this in 5 different decades. Their purchasing after their passing is a reminder of what they have been hearing and loving over the years but may not have actually purchased. Also the young kids may have only been introduced after the passing and encourages them to purchase also.
there was a small surge in Natalie's sales
of course the white man's sales surge was bigger though
:uhh: David Bowie's album was already selling before he died. Plus, the man is a legend and this album is amazing. Many different artists were inspired by him.
I am scarred, so fucking scarred

This is my tragic heart

I'm glad ya'll faggots finallyrummaged through those field slave brains enough to remember that someone else died beside a fuking Aaliyah.

OoO! Li! Liyah, Christ!, Not good!

MJ, Luther, Whitney, all them fuckers' albums did the same got damn thing. Talk about that.

Ponder the dynamics behind actual topic for once.

David is the king of reinvention
and I never debated that
Clearly he's iconic
BUT he is also privileged because he is white
which is the main reason he sold more in death than
Natalie Cole who is also a legend, but she is black
:uhh:

ok Jay I didn't say he wasn't selling or wasn't a legend
I said he sold more than a Black woman because he's white
and that's no lie
