Russian Roulette

it's a trend unfolding that seems to be catching

i didn't even know they can actually see the tip beforehand
those who pride themselves on not tipping delivery people should probably know they can see that "0" next to the tip before handling your food.

or in some cases it doesn't say it exactly but they can quickly calculate it based on the order to figure it out

maybe some people wanna tip in cash? Id be scared that uber eats will just keep the tip if i pay it digitally. Or maybe its different in the U.S.

its different here. uber eats drivers can def see exactly how much you tipped especially after the trip - they even send "Thank you" messages to confirm they'vre ceived it.

i honestly feel delivery drivers are sometimes treated like shit here in the states

many times its legit people saying "im not tipping cuz i dont have to"

very little appreciation for the service they provide

if im already spending the extra money to eat out and have it delivered as opposed to being more frugal by cooking my own food im def gonna go a little further and tip.

people make it about spending too much money unnecessarily but i feel if you're really concerned about cost and spending little money as possible u wouldn't be eating out . u'd be making a grilled cheese sandwich on ur stove or heating up ramen noodles or something .

i just feel its kinda selfish and im kinda happy to see them standing up for themselves. people say "its ur job to do this im not paying u extra for that"....well they're kinda showing the gorls they dont HAVE to pick up your orders cuz they're independent contractors.

Time for them to stop bitching and get a new job then
they're keepin the same job toots

just leaving the orders with no tips to get cold ...skipping them
and pickin up the orders with a tip included to make sure those customers get their food pipin' hot and fresh

it's not their" job" to pick up tip-less orders cuz they don't have to as indpeendent contractors.
they can decline any order they choose.

some mcdonalds are actually beginning to separate the orders between "tip" and "no tip" for the drivers

sounds fair to me. if someones goin the extra mile for me imma do the same for them

I'm proud that they are standing up for themselves.  If you don't want to tip, then go pick up your own food.

I find this a little silly. I tip based off my service and experience so...... I wait until its iny heals and i have look at my order.

A tip should be a bonus for good service. Delivery and good quality of food should be guaranteed. It's time for employers to pay their employees instead of counting on costumers to do it for them. Why would I pay a tip if you are late? Why in a restaurant get a big tip if the waiter is giving me an attitude and  the food is cold? A tip should be a reward. I think they should get minimal wage, there need to be good rules about this in the states to make sure people get paid what they deserve.

I'm proud that they are standing up for themselves.  If you don't want to tip, then go pick up your own food.

If the employer doesn't pay employees to deliver, then delete the delivery option and make consumers go pick up their own food.

i mean no matter in which country most delivery people get paid very little and get treated like shit. I understand where you'te coming from with the tip being earned by good service but why not just tip them to even out their unjust payment and treatment a bit? Sure if somebody cursed you out or is rude af you dont have to tip and you can complain

I mean, some drivers are really shitty so I can see why someone would want to wait until they receive their order before delivering but there's also no guarantee that the person who placed the order will even be there when they arrive.

Also, how much do you guys tip for delivery and how much for when you pick up takeout?
