Seems like they did check and secure but his size/weight might've been too much to withhold the force when things got going..

my thoughts too

He was a BIG child. 6'5 340 lbs. He was denied on every other ride. I wonder if someone was 'sympathetic' and wanted him to enjoy at least one ride. My god.

damn. this big ass man was 14?

:uhh:

Aren't Canadians supposed to be nice and compassionate? :uhh:

Yep. He was a football player. Denied on every other ride. Poor kid just wanted to enjoy the liberties that other 14 year olds do. He was likely excited to get on one ride until his gut was telling him something was wrong. His friends said he began to panic as the rise ascended and told them to tell his parents that he loved them. Tragic!

So fucking sad

That lift was clearly not secure and locked tf in.

I be nervous as hell getting on rides tho

Soon as the mess takes off I'm CLINGING to the bar or seat

Might lose an arm if something happens..not tryna die

Purple Moon

Must be a purple moon, feel like one of those nights...

This is horrible. This is spring carnival time and all the parents are talking about this.. I didn't know he was this size. A lot of times those rides have several "lock" positions for people of various sizes. I'm thinking it just couldn't hold him in that last slot, so to speak.

Regardless, the ride did malfunction
Ketanji Jackson has come this far by faith.

Ketanji Brown will still beatcho ass.

This makes me wonder how well this park trains their employees. With amusement rides of this height there are usually a lot of safety measures. SMH, somebody's getting fired. And sued probably.

I personally would never attempt to go on rides if I was that big and overweight for the fear of what happened to this poor guy. Guess he was a brave soul.

This makes no sense

He was 14 years old.

Most kids aren't thinking about shit like that

It makes a lot of sense. Especially if I was told by the other rides I was too big and denied to ride

being that young comes with an inherent sense of invincibility. not thinking about stuff adults think more about

not measuring risk as much.

not saying "hmmm wonder what the maximum weight capacity is for THIS ride. can i get a full report before i board? safety first. thank you."

if anything i'd say the parents were more in the position to think of these things.

And since he was 14, he was probably at the park with friends. Or was he with a parent too? I didn't watch any of the videos in full nor did I read the full article.
