Black artists aren't supported by their own fans. Constantly complaining about lack of quality music, yet when good music is put out they don't buy. They don't support their albums, their social media, their live performances, nor their message. But let somebody "throw shade" or get "ratchet". Oh they all over that nonsense. Until the fans themselves wise up to this dumbing down, their favs are doomed to fail. 35K....ridiculous! where tf are the fans talking mess all day on Twitter?
Yeah cause a couple stans on Twitter = album sales.

I support good music. It's that simple. The girls need to sleep their cookies up.

Yep I do too. More importantly, I try to support their live performances. That's where many drop the ball. But you can only do what you can. It's free to tweet, retweet, like their page. White people are social media savvy. Makes no sense why we're not. Hell if we can make James Wright Chanel a celebrity overnight, we can push this music the same way.

It's hard to get people to come to your shows if you aren't popular at the moment. Hell, look what Future did. He have done 4 free mixtapes. The girls are just lazy and want to focus on everything but great music. They only make music that feels good to them and wonder why it flops. Bitch build your brand and then throw them off. Look at Ciara. Girl you can't make nobody get into your music. 4 albums of the same pop shit. Lucky, Body Party was a success because Fut knew what people WANTED. I don't feel bad for some of the girls, really. Why tf would you keep doing the same shit that keep failing. Ugh. I hate some of these girls.

You can't compare food to music.

It's very complex problem no doubt. But all I'm saying is, we have to be smarter. We as in community. As David Ruffin & Eddie Kendrick said: "WE have the voices" (I'm dating myself lol. Love that movie!)

Neither IWAB or Halo came close to Single Ladies in regard to overall success.

just another era proving what people prefer when it comes to 'fas. Neck rolling, weave swinging, nigger fuck you songs. :dead: I mean why is this even being argued or debated? :dead: it's kind of her brand. Yeah she branches off and does an XO mess to give variety but we all know the tea we envision when we think of 'fas. And it's not her standing with slick backed hair by a piano

I'm not comparing food to music. I'm trying to say, your voice has power. You have power. The talent on this board alone is unreal! I can't imagine if y'all actually combined forces to do something.

What?

Okay I'll give you an example. PUT IT DOWN. As much as I love Brandy that's not one of my favorites from her, not her best work IMO. But the success of that song was purely Starz/fan driven. The Starz were in beast mode and it couldn't be denied. Fans have a lot of power to drive the music.
