According to the Tinashe fans on ATRL... Normani was supposed to be singing "Nice & Slow" for the Usher tribute... but because of the injury, they got Tinashe to replace her at the last minute.
So even if Normani was to perform, it wasn't gonna be her own set. She was gonna perform as part of the Usher tribute.
This hasn't been confirmed yet but I think it's true tbh. If BET told Tinashe earlier that she was gonna perform during the Usher tribute, I'm sure she would've had something more elaborate planned... because Tinashe had one of the worst performances during the tribute and she's a PERFORMER. That Tinashe performance was definitely giving last minute addition.
