late night TV as a whole is fading

Trump knows these are easy targets because of the overall dwindling ratings.
which is why he keeps mentioning that.

i knew ratings had to be somewhat of a driving force behind this. not JUST what was said.

this is like low hanging fruit for the president. these networks are not gonna fight tooth and nail for failing concepts/shows.

When he starts successfully hitting outlets like CNN with a tea then I'll really be shaking in my pants.

that's who he really wants, but they're nowhere as easily touchable as these flop late night shows that no one is watching anyway.
and that were pretty much already on the road to cancelation.

That's part of the reason, maybe. I think it really comes down to the fact that people have many more options now. We don't have to watch some contrived late night interview for 10 minutes of the same questions they ask every time the same people go on these shows    when we can watch them on stream with Kai Cenat or some youtube show, or the artist going live on Instagram, Twitter spaces or tik tok.

Competition is everywhere and it's not just on tv. No one wants to see Fallon ask Ariana Grande about her favorite color or ask Brandy and Kelly Rowland about their kids getting into the music business for the 600th time

i saw someone predict within 5-10 years late night shows will be a thing of the past altogether and although that person was just a random and not an industry expert i actually 100% agree .

just based on everything i researched last night...seems like these networks are willing to keep these late night shows around for whatever remaining coins they can finish SQUEEZING out of them but their days are numbered. and they def aren't in a position to be rocking boats like they're untouchable.

In 5 to 10 years, they'll be nothing but State TV... shows for the government, by the government, to promote that everything the government does is right.

Idk that for sure, but it seems that way.

i looked deeper cuz to me going for a cancelation for saying Charlie was something he was proud of didn't make much sense to me.
yeah it makes for more of an interesting dramatic story but i was scratching my head.

but i can def see him/the network getting in trouble with the FCC on this type of comment

it's an open case and he's making serious allegations about the suspect's affiliations - at some point this becomes a legal issue not so much a moral issue.

and if he was already one foot out the door with ratings, he kinda walked himself out with this mess.

So the leader and his regime have already said the shooter was a radicalized democrat before they even knew who the shooter was. They wanted that narrative out there. Someone on Fox News asked "the King" what he would do to bring the country together. He said something about those radical democrats are the whole problem. It's like he is trying to heighten the tension, like he wants more violence.

All Jimmy Kimmel said was that the admin wants the shooter to be a democrat, but it looks like it's a conservative. And the info that his grandmother gave is that the whole family is MAGA. So how is that even an insult?

And they've already arrested someone because of their political beliefs. They arrested an immigrant student because she said something critical of Isreal's war. She had a green card. She wasn't here illegally. They said, had they known that was her opinion, they never would have given her a green card, so that justifies the arrest.

Wake up. America is loosing its freedom. We used to brag about how much better we had it here than other countries because at least we are free to do as we please as long as we aren't hurting anyone. We are becoming one of the countries we used to feel sorry for...

as foundational Black Americans I'm actually surprised so many of us actually believed this "Land of the Free" mess existed up until a couple years ago.

People face consequences and even lose their freedom all the time in this country for who they are and what they believe in. It's always just been a matter of the people in power finding a way to justify it. An "official" reason to throw our Black ass in jail or limit our resources.

Same goes for our workplaces. You have a boss who doesn't fuck with you....your livelihood and ability to support yourself or your family can be taken not because there's official rules in place stating you can't believe certain things or because you did something horribly immoral/unethical, but because people above you found out you have a stance they don't like, and found a good "official" reason to fire you.

America is the land of the workarounds. not land of the "free". And it's been that way for a minute.

When has any of this become groundbreaking news? If one thing Trump is good at doing when he's in office is really bringing to light a lot of issues we've had lingering for the longest - because as opposed to being under the table, he's simply more overt with it.

You're telling the gorls to wake up but it's apparent to me that you've kinda been sleeping throughout the years.
