Aren't Kendrick and J. Cole supposed to be speaking against homophobia?

lets be real though, cuz as soon as they do really address it
ya'll will be on here like "I knew he was one of the gorlz lmaoz!" and thats probably why they stray away from the topic
:uhh:

If they REALLY where in support then they wouldn't care, them being offended shows their true colours

I mean let's face it
Macklmore have that luxury, black rappers don't.
That is very true. White men are more free in what society allows them.

It would be nice

Although I remember J.Cole being called out after:

QuoteMy verbal AK slay faggots and I don't mean no disrespect
Whenever I say faggot, okay faggot? huh, don't be so sensitive
If you want to get fucked in the ass
That's between you and whoever else's dick it is, pause
Maybe that line was too far
Just a little joke to show how homophobic you are
And who can blame ya? Boy Meets World

This one is debatable lol

I'd say the best thing in recent that was inclusive (in terms of black queer people) was Formation. It was nice to hear Beyonce give a one up to Freedia & Messy Mya (RIP).

nnnnn

see

AIDS!

AIDS!

Reminds of what Azealia said about her fanbase
As soon as she says something about being black, her white gay fans are up in arms, calling her all kinds of monkey ect

I know J. Cole does use "faggot" in his raps though. How is that okay.
doesn't bother me

i can see why people wouldn't use, but i just chalk it up to ignorance. The word doesn't hit home for them because they just can't relate IMO. period.

Well yea,  love to call somebody gay if they show tolerance and if they don't they're bashed.  But honestly, i don't feel like they need to speak on gay issues.
This is my pass to say WHATEVER tf I wanna say about the mess she releases so I don't wanna hear SHIT! Baby mama is a mess of a song btw

Everybody is praising them for being so socially conscious, deep etc... But how come Macklemore was the only one with the balls to tackle gay issues, when they run rampant in the black communities. Shouldn't our street poets who are oh so great, make that a topic too?
:young:
Kendrick and Cole aren't obligated to stick up for gays. They're doing the right thing by making sure that they speak up for those whom they identify with. If we forced them to speak up for gays, even though they don't identify as such, since it was right, then we might as well give them a laundry list of other things to discuss.

And give other artists that list as well.

These are artists, not politicians. Their voice is well, theirs.

I used to STAN for DMX, then I went back and listened to some of his songs and I was like, "wait I rapped and danced down to THIS?"

:udontlookok:

"Where Da Hood At?" used to my anthem

And one could easily argue that Macklemore is an opportunist. As many white people are. No shade. They profit off of others' struggles, gladly raking in dollars from things that don't affect them or their immediate community directly. But I'm sure he'll state that he donated a portion of the proceeds to some random gay organization.

QuoteMan, cats don't know what it's gonna be
Fuckin with a nigga like me, D-to-the-M-to-the-X
Last I heard, y'all niggas was havin sex, with the same sex
I show no love, to homo thugs
Empty out, reload and throw more slugs
How you gonna explain fucking a man?
Even if we squashed the beef, I ain't touching ya hand
I don't bunk with chumps, for those who been to jail
That's the cat with the Kool-Aid on his lips and pumps
I don't fuck with niggas that think they broads
Only know how to be one way, that's the dog
I know how to get down, know how to bite
Bark very little, but I know how to fight
I know how to chase a cat up in the tree
Man, I give y'all niggas the b'iness for fucking with me, is you crazy?!

Like Jesus, my 10 year old self used to LOVE his music, and now I am like...

:uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh:

This is like still a club anthem...
