Furthermore....
QuoteIt would have been more daring for Beyonce's brand for the song to actually say the same thing lyrically and attack ears the same way those berets attacked White America's eyes. It would have been more daring to properly deliver these not so apparent boasts of Black Pride and awareness by including lyrics about them.
You're basically expressing your ideas of what have been "more" daring. Giving a laundry list of shoulda coulda woulda's that could have spiced it up a bit. But the bottom line is that the message was still clear. She had Mayor Guliani practically calling her a racist, FOX News down her throat. So your opinions of what may have been "more" effective are neither here or there.
FoxNews will jump at ANY chance to call ANY Black person a racist or an agitator to race relations.
I feel like your passion about the power and IMPACT of this song is misplaced, that's all. I dont see this movement you speak of.
People were mad and called her disrespectful. Woo. That was the end of it.
It's falling on deaf ears all day every day when it spins on the radio because its a POOR song about bullshit and definitely shoulda, woulda and coulda been spiced up. It shoulda been an anthem. It coulda resonated and marinated more. It woulda been on Hot100.
