I've had similar experiences sis; especially the longer it grows

I know what you mean.

And also for me; I love every part of my blackness but why not celebrate ALL that you are. I definitely don't consider myself mixed or anything . You see me you see a black boy; but this DNA thing has already started to help me realize my individuality and it's helped me celebrate and love it; ALL of it . I can't wait to visit those countries in Africa ; it's literally my next vacation spot in planning soon

I can't wait to get the free time to really committ to finding everything out like you did Sis ❤️

I mean, Romero hit the nail on the head earlier on in this thread; we're taught that Black is the bottom of the barrel from an early age so a lot of the more impressionable folk seek out and latch for filth onto the fact that they're not 100% nigger and mixed with some (usually nonexistent) mess.

It's sad.
!!!!!

Honestly i never cared about ancestry until I moved to the south . I was pretty much happy being a Black boy. my music was specific to the black gay community .. My swag ... What I see in the mirror.

But I'm from nyc . We have Puerto Ricans Dominicans walking around... White black... Seeing someone with curly hair is not w big deal.

Light skin/dark skin good hair/bad hair is crazy down here in the south. None of this started until my hair started growing long.

People may think it's a joke or a kii or even a lie but I can't tell u how many times I hear "how did u get ur hair like that?" "U got some good hair" "what is in ur hair?" "I wish I had ur hair"

It's like they're complimenting u but u can feel their envy piercing thru ur skin as well. And it's mostly black women . Men for the most part don't care from what I've seen.

One female barber yanking my hair from the root down here to make sure it wasn't a perm after I told her it wasn't. Even here I have to deal with people feeling it's ok to make fun of my hair cuz it's different.

The reality is most black men have kinky hair. It's not something I made up.  Look it up. If it were normal I wouldn't deal with anything I have to deal with. Call it a sob story or a lie but the ones kii'ing will be the first to call me ramen noodle tomorrow.

Learning what makes me different has given me peace. I love my ramen noodles. And where they come from. And if my pride offends u oh fucking well.

glad nothing I say affects you sis. This IS kinda your 5th time bringing it up after I apologized :dead:

What annoys me and it's not directed to anyone in this thread..
Is that when black people do their DNA tests, they spend more time on the less than 25% European, N.A ect DNA, than focusing on the good more relavent stronger 50%+ African DNA they have
It's like being 'African' is basic and enough and they want to explore the minuscule 2.5% of Norwegian blood :dead:

omg Jaydan sis  :plzstop: :plzstop: :plzstop: :kii: :kii: :kii: >>>><<<<
Its annoying
You know how many tribes, cultures ect you could undercover by looking into your more relavent African DNA? :uhh:
Way more than the irrelavent glorified usually less than 20% of European blood :dead:

Young

Our melanin >>>>

Afro what part of the south were you in?
NC.

The mess I hear down here ....

"He light skindeded ... He used to getting his way!!!" Etc

Jnnnnnnhgggggggggg

And the hatred for whites :uhh: do u guys not remember the whole new black mess that spun off from me not understanding why they were so mad??? Gggggggvv

Until I educated and corrected myself.

All of this mess honestly stems from being in such a racially motivated region of the country.

Even my sisters were confused with my "sudden" interest in these things. This is what I hear and see every day in the south.

Young

I was thinking of moving to Georgia and buying and house there this year but the stories I'm hearing about the south both on this board and from friends living there is kinda alarming.

It's like certain people are stuck in a time warp there :uhh:

I don't experience RACE at all here in Hawaii. Crazy how it's considered America but so different from a place like GA or even further south

I'm scared to leave
