KING BENTLEY.

but in response to the original post, which is a good one 'man

I think having a sense of pride in where you come from is great! A connection to YOUR specific roots has to feel amazing. I mean it's your family lolz.

but sometimes ... maybe that pride can get transformed into isolation without us knowing it?

and we start offending and excluding other ppl and not caring...

I mean today "black lives matter"

but tomorrow will only "melungeon lives matter"? :dead:
(not directed at you Fro, just using an example)

that's how the whites kept our culture down in the past, separation

unity and commonality is a great thing, jus saying

Why does it always get to this

Blackness and heritage shouldn't get to this amongst ourselves especially

Afro what part of the south were you in?
NC.

The mess I hear down here ....

"He light skindeded ... He used to getting his way!!!" Etc

Jnnnnnnhgggggggggg

And the hatred for whites :uhh: do u guys not remember the whole new black mess that spun off from me not understanding why they were so mad??? Gggggggvv

Until I educated and corrected myself.

All of this mess honestly stems from being in such a racially motivated region of the country.

Even my sisters were confused with my "sudden" interest in these things. This is what I hear and see every day in the south.

Oh ok. Cuz I'm thinking I'm in the South and I ain't never been mesmerized by some curly hair   :diddraispoot: but NC may have a slightly different perspective  than Atlanta.

Is it really racial down there in AIDSLanta love?

If you live within the city, no for the most part. The suburbs can be though. I see at least one confederate flag everyday.

Zankou.

d

I'm up north and I see confederate flags sometimes..

Ok I'm white so don't read me for my opinion but this isn't just unique to black people. I mean for all intents and purposes I'm white but my background is Italian and that's something my family clings onto for dear life. The culture, claiming to be Italian every chance they get  :plzstop:

I think it's healthy to be proud of your history but at the same time it shouldn't be used to distinguish yourself from others in a negative sense. Appreciate your roots and other's as well. But then again, my culture wasn't steeped in oppression like black history was so it's easier for me to say that.

Thx luv. It can def be a touchy subject and I'm hesitant to share my opinion b/c I don't want to seem like I'm claiming to understand what black people go through. I'll only speak up if it's something I can truly relate to.

I live in Southern California and I've seen more than a few Confederate flags
