tbh sis Im gonna have to look up my mess
cuz my family is from the south and up north here and my fathers grandmother was claiming indian and having freed relatives so your story of the creole melungeon stuff is really interesting because my results have no indian/native mess but ive seen photos of individuals who do NOT look black so its weird
I bet I have a similar story
Imma do this mess; I wanna learn my heritage
what gave it away for me that it could be possibly creole wasn't really my great grandmothers looks but more so her posture. She looks so poised . Powerful. Sure of herself. Clearly well off financially. This is what led to me to "free people of color" conclusion
That coupled with the fact that people always think me and my sisters are Caribbean ... Haitian etc. this is where the free people of color are from ... Saint Domingue . Which is now Hispaniola (Dominican Republic/Haiti)
Two people on this board swore up and down that I was Haitian . Lol taron and monk . so it made sense BUT I didn't have documentation. To really really prove it
Now I do!!!! This is who I am. people SEE my heritage and identify it. I was blown away when I saw the Haiti mess. It's scary. But amazingggg. I am proud to be Melungeon!!!!
