I want to thank you guys for bearing with all my excitement as I searched through my family history for answers. Yes it was a bit overboard but anyone who knows me , knows that is my personality. If I'm invested in something, I am INVESTED. No matter the topic.

This ancestry quest has been no different.
There's always been a bit mystery surrounding my grandmother's origins/family (especially her father) and I can say I am the one who cracked them, and I will be the one hand delivering her copies and information for her to read ALL about who
SHE is. She is a Melungeon and Native woman.
And although she is 1/4th who
I am, and even though she is like my mother, she is not ALL of who I am, genetically. I am proud to be Black. Proud of my dark skin, proud of my negro nose.
This is why I love Formation.

It celebrates EVERYTHING.

I honestly see ALL of my heritage when I look in the mirror every day now. And that's a beautiful thing.
I tried to research my father's side, and even my maternal grandfather's side, but honestly with "African American" genealogy you hit brick walls after only 2 or 3 generations. At least that's the case in my family. It just stopped at a certain point. And I'm fine with that. It is what it is. But I know who my father's family is though. There's no mystery about my great grandfather on that side. I get to see the fruits of his labor every time I go down to Georgia.

But anyway, before I start babbling. It took months, but my journey has been completed. And if anyone else who is on the same journey needs tips or advice don't be afraid to email me. universalidol@gmail.com
