I watched about of animal attacks and tbh you don't get a sense of the SIZE and POWER of an animal until you watch an attack.

It made me realize just how WEAK we really are, but I also learned that in evolution human had to pick. The smarter we got the weaker we got.

i wanted to adopt a dog but i watched this mess:

and completely changed my perspective on things...he's likening pet ownership to kidnapping and slavery (which seemed extreme at first but he's right)...and says its very selfish

but then i was thinking isn't a dog better off in a home than in an animal shelter?

I mean it's sad but some animals are too far gone.
We've domesticated them to the point that they'd die without us.

Most farm animals like cows, turkeys, sheep etc., would die in the wild.

a lot of shelters kill dogs after about 1 week

so its better that they get homes. dog breeding for $$ is where the issue really lies.

we dont have to toss them in with the apes and lions though
we could have animal santuary's.....environments that kinda closely simulate their 'natural habitat'....

just having a dog couped up in a damn 900 sq ft apartment with no other dogs to interact with....on a leash when we go out, castrating it (im not saying all pet owners do this but...)..forcing it to form relationships with humans rather than its own kind..stealing it away from its family.....very slavery'ish.
