We all know why Brandy was depressed: the breakup with Ryan. And we really can't expect her to SPILL the details. After what happened with Robert Smith where she spilled too much tea, musically and during interviews, she's learned to be more tactful when discussing those issues.

Honestly, I'm not too optimistic about the tour cause I kinda feel like it'll be reminiscent of her 2/11 shows but like Rig said, let's just wait and see first when she performs before we have an opinion. I know we're all a bit anxious and frustrated due to some of the setbacks with music but what to do. We're just gonna have to 'wait and see'.

She pretty much only discussed Begging n pleading and what that song gave. She said the album will be deeper lyrically, more personal, she wants to tell a story, and she's been writing

I didn't see many descriptive lines here other than that :dead: and certainly not any promises in terms of the sound. What same old song and dance are you referring to?

Boy, your optimism is cute...but no!

We have heard this all before. She has promised that 2/11 would be her most personal album to date...and half the songs she wouldn't sing live because they were too sexual.

QuoteThe great thing about social media is you can connect right to your foundation of fans, let them know music is on the way. Stay up, I might drop something at midnight.

Honestly, when has she actually done that? They barely announce where and when she performs.

The interviews have been sounding the same since before Human dropped...it's going on 8 years. I'm sorry, but Brandy has to do something else. Her visuals don't excite, her music takes forever to release and in-between there are no consistent announcements about what is to come. Her saving grace is her vocal talent...that's what the fans need. That is the only consistent thing about Brandy the musician/artist.

:dead:

aren't you one of the main ones on here always complaining about fans being negative? This is new.

Was I negative?
I don't feel I was.
I feel I'm very objective when it comes to Brandy.
There are those on here who say nothing but negative things or voice complaints about unrealistic expectations...like an album or EP being released in the midst of a legal battle over a recording contract.
I don't think it's unreasonable to say that just about all of her interviews are the same. I don't think it's necessarily negative either.
The fact that you say "this is new"
Only further proves the point that I'm objective.

When did I say Brandy's depression(s) wasn't real or that she should get over it?
I only said that when she returns with an album, depression is always the focus in the promo/interviews...or at least it has been since FULL MOON. Which was supported by the Oprah interview I posted.

Everybody wants to quote that.
But not once has anybody quoted the completely positive comment I posted in this thread.
It's not my fault if yall wish to focus on what you deem "negative."

It's kind of weird to say Brandy is phony, when she's being candid about depression. It's kinda hard for those two things to co-exist. She's honest, and I wish she was a tad bit more phony when it comes to that.

All the emotional stuff I want to see put into the music and that's it. Unless it's some big network interview, I wish she kept it a lil lighter. I love Iyanlady, but she's only impactful in doses (like with most depressing/inspirational things). People get bored with that stuff easily.

Queen always struck me as the girl who needs a hug every now and again. I think she expects hugs from the general public from telling her story but we aren't a empathetic society. People want your products and services, if it ain't messy nobody really cares. Her fans know her battles, and I think the more seasoned ones understand that Brandy's insecurities run deeper than a few albums. She's always gonna battle that to some level....and that's okay because that makes her inspirational.

All repetitive interviews aside,
Brandy will come out on top because she isn't a quitter.
She continues to push herself, even in the midst of a storm.
She will serve the purpose that she feels she has in the world and the industry.
Her Star power cannot be denied.
The fact that she can still release albums is a testament to that
Because most of the big acts during her prime
Are nowhere to be found.

LOONA.

Dumb fags

You don't just "get over" depression like that.

I've never been one to coddle Brandy but lately y'all just attack her over any damn thing and it's late.

LOONA.

The fact that Bran's still in her right mind after all she's been through is amazing honestly.

Even I get pissed off sometimes about the lack of new music, but you gurs are outta fckn control.
