Like I'm just not seeing why Justin had to take the blame

Lots of other ppl planned the show.
And they had rehearsals I'm sure.
Higher ups and network execs knew she was gonna show her titty

I like Justin's music, but I agree.
If Justin would've gone the pop route, he wouldn't have had a successful solo career.

Justin is a Pop singer though...
and has been singing pop songs, what are you talking about?

you actin like he put out straight R&B records or something. He hasn't

!!!

If him being white is why he's selling with r&b then why the fuck would it be any different if he was doing strictly pop? After all...he is white isn't he?

This boy has been doing pop and r&b influenced since nsync days and now in 2016 the girls want to pull this cultural appropriation mess... If it really meant that much then you should have ripped him to shreds about 15 years ago. I'm not buying this fake outrage. It's a little too late.

The niggas been working with Timbaland for YEARS and doing this same sounds and influences, and it works and it's authentic enough for me because I think at this point they genuinely like to work together if it wasn't obvious before.

I dont think there was an issue with him being inspired
however when he was asked about Janet & the appropriation
his response pretty much dismissed it
thats what got him in hot water
ssssss
Janet has to own up to the fact she wanted to show that titty! I'm so sorry but ... yes she did want the world to see that titty!

She was older than him, she should have never out him in that position! Stop thinking of a race thing and think of it as a business/human thing. You would've done what Justin did.

You're giving Justin the "white guy pass."  He was an adult.  He wasn't 13.  He knew he was pulling clothes off Janet and even bragged about it right afterwards.  He changed his tune when he realized the backlash was about to set in.

I don't know how you are so sure it was planned to show her naked breast and not a lingerie-ish outfit.  But either way, they both did it.  And Justin didn't get a pass 'cause he was young. He got a pass 'cause he was white.

Vic wants to see some action from JT.
Justin Timberlake was hit with major flack after folks misconstrued his intentions when he sent support to the black community after Jesse Williams? powerful speech at the 2016 BET Awards. Unfortunately for the pop titan, that criticism is still coming in strong from hip-hop heavy hitters, including Vic Mensa. During a recent Larry Willmore-hosted round table discussion, the Chi-town rapper sounded off on why Black Twitter came for dat ass. ?Our problem here is that Justin Timberlake himself?you know?is definitely benefiting from using black culture for his sound, his dance moves, his dancers, and blowing up off of it,? he explained. ?But if you roll down Justin Timberlake?s Twitter for the past two years, which I just did, you see nothing that supports black people when it?s more difficult, when there?s a struggle.?
In Justin?s defense, there really hasn?t been that much non-sponsored BS/promotional content on the singer?s timeline over the last couple, but the rapper makes a point. There?s a whole lot more advocacy that can be done outside of the social media realm, especially considering his power and close affiliation with the community.
?That?s a dangerous subject for him to touch,? Vic said. ?We?re not feeling him being down when it?s beneficial to him, and turning a blind eye when it could be dangerous. . . .Sit down until you show us you care. Don?t tell us shit unless you show us you care.?
And let?s face it: Janet Jackson knows a lot about that blind eye.

What you guys think? I kinda see what he means  :ohwow:
did you know Justin timberlakes ancestors were slave owners?

I mean, he's not lying and what do his black peers have to do with a white man appropriating black music and culture and getting away with it? :uhh: JT can't even act like he cares about black ppl. JT should've kept his mouth shut because he made himself a target now.

it's a valid comparison. why expect the white guy to do it, when the to black ones run from it as well? we have to start at home. this isn't the 50's where the black artists were about community when the white ones stole their sound and became huge. however that being said, two wrongs don't make a right either. appropriation is appropriation. i for one think this should've been a pressed issue when the janet thing happened. the gorls let it die down and acted as if it never happened when he returned with a new black infused bop lol
exactly!
And in Justin's case he's also shown appreciation for it. Like Mel said, there's a difference between appropriation and appreciation.

Justin has also progressed RnB sound, he's contributed. His albums are cohesive. I didn't see him biting Confessions after Usher did his thing.

Now if we wanna talk about appropriation, let's talk about Macklemore, Iggy, Post Malone and countless others, Justin Bieber ... Zayn I mean

Going at Justin is like going at Paul Wall or Jon B. The fake woke gang is annoying when they can't properly access situations.

That's like Martin Luther King turning away the white protesters for trying to connect or find common ground with their struggle :kii:
the struggle comparison is the issue lol. the girls aren't here for the white guy with the black sound who doesn't speak up in the hard times for black people. however i to agree that our own artists need to get the hell in line which is why i loved jesse's speech. it spoke to both sides.

he's contributed, but progressed it? ch? brandy progressed r&b. people like stevie wonder, mj, prince, r.kelly, baby face, etc hell even drake.. and more?justin giving me mj falsetto over timbo and pharrell beats isn't progression. being successful isn't progression of a genre either. progression comes in two forms, pushing the sound to new places or sparking a demand for the genre at large?has a has done neither. he's been successful and had some good music.

i agree to an extent. jt's style is drenched in classic black music sound. the flip side of it is that he gives props and acknowledgment to the those who create for him and have influenced him.
Interesting
Ive seen a few clips of interviews where he downplays his Black influences like Mike
and instead says Frank Sinatra, Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly are his influences. Not to mention hes beefed with Prince & R Kelly.
Im surprised ppl are finally noticing that he doesnt care about us
oh wow  :dead: :dead: :dead: :dead:

wtf

:omgwatshappening:

i actually never peeped that sssdsdds fuck him
