has a long list of classic hits
one of the best and most influential male performers, especially of anyone ALIVE today

No. I wouldn't call him an "icon" so to say, but DEFINITELY a "superstar". He accomplished a lot in his career. As far as icon, I don't think he ever made his OWN lane or created something to be FOLLOWED. He always kinda mimicked his faves (ie. Michael Jackson). And I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with that, because there isn't. It just doesn't fit the mold of what I would consider an "icon". He made a mark on the industry no doubt.
