Why do people act like Lauryn hills pretty dark skin self wasn't the hottest thing in music when bey debuted in 97?
All this skin tone BS. It has nothing to do with skin tone. RnB is dead, mainstream radio will not touch it. Unless it's a known name and even then it's a struggle to get it into top 40 rotation. That's why no new black girls are happening. Only way one can happen is if she comes out with a full pop sound n catchy tune. Natalie did it, but her follow ups all were brick.
Dreezy is a dark skin girl who made the most waves this year, body was huge on urban and close to you slayed too. So much for dark skin girls getting shunned.
