Where is this black empowerment on "lemonade" ya'll speak about?

Besides hot sauce and Jackson 5 nostrils?

sssssss

Other than that it's a typical urban album  :dead:
:kii: :kii: :kii: :kii: :kii: :kii:

the gorls really RAN with the Superbowl performance too!
ugh .. it was horrible, they were regarding her like MLK

like ... they've never thought to ask themselves...
hmmm what kinda statement is it to say "you better call Becky with the good hair"

um .. WHY sis ... you just showed up to the Grammys with a headful of Becky's hair
not a braid or fro or Black Panther suit in SIGHT :dead:

nnnnvvvv this illogical though.

black women have the capacity to do whatever they want with their hair. could she have possibly worn her yaki just because she WANTED to?
s

possibly, but I find it funny how she played on that whole "I love my blackness" motif
when we all know that's not her

In the same sense I'd be shocked to see Jill or Erykah or Lauryn hop on stage cloaked in blonde yaki
after such a powerful and ... moving statement lolz

if you're gonna stand for something
do it all the time
not just when it's convenient

just like when she became a feminist when Run the World was flopping for points
but married to the most mysogynistic rapper :plzstop:

if we're gonna call other artists out and say they're gimmicks let's take a closer look into Bey's "artistry" too

anywho, it's interesting is all I'm saying lolz

CHOKE

I have to say tho

Forget the Grammy

Let's look at them as artists

The black womah has to be twice as good to even compete

And the Grams proved it

Bey slayed the Grams. Some say it was one of the best televised performances ever

And then you have a Adele who can't even finish a song because she can't hit the notes

But Adele wins

Bey doesn't really need pity tbh she's 20 years in and still winning

It's the other black girls that should be worried

She was likely slighted, but that's all I can give it

Not here for this downtrodden victim angle. She's good

to say she had no impact on black culture and its movement is such a reach produced by a hatin ass bitch :dead: & 'day you JUST made a thread praisin her for this. gorls, tell a consistent narrative please

Gorl that album didn't have no impact. I appreciate what she did in that Super Bowl performance, but to act like this bitch just gave an Angela Davis mess over a trap beat is about as farfetched as Ci getting a top 10 on the Hot 100.
nmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

may your thread literally said otherwise

lew girl

they wont have a 96 piece

stop protesting

Sovereign.

this conversation is more than Bey, though. It's tiresome to see black artist (gifted artist) get dealt the short hand in an industry they're so highly influential in. It's also important for these same black artist to celebrate in spaces that are meant for them.

But were the same ones to boast about how successful Bey is as black woman :udontlookok:

All this whining and crying like :udontlookok: Lemonaids just wasn't a good album, get over it. Not here for niggas bringing up how black ppl are slighted when the person they're trying to defend has 20 fucking Grammys

1) Beys success is inspite of the many racial and gender roadblocks that exist
And it doesnt erase simply because shes able to buffer alot of it

2) the album was good one of her best from an artistic point of view and adelles was not better and she knows this as well

3) establishments that are fuming that bey has overcame alot of these hurdles still enjoy taking jabs at her via these avenues which is why shes distanced herself from the machine altogether and is pretty much operating as an independent artist
