Bodak being the first song by a female hip hop artist since 98 to top the Hot 100 pretty much makes it bigger than any Nicki record regardless of sales.
This.
I was trying to figure out a way to articulate that.
Nicki doesn't have a single solo record to her credit as impactful as "Bodak Yellow". It's just the truth.
nah
That's just on US soil. If we're talking "biggest hit," that convo needs to include stats from all over the world lol. Y'all logic would imply Bodak is bigger and more impactful than any Missy song as well and, just, no
I've already acknowledged Nicki has bigger hits around the world, but let's be clear that Cardi has not even visited these places.
A true comparison would be looking at Nicki's first 2 solo records "Massive Attack" and "Your Love" around the world.
that's not what we're discussing
Regardless of where Cardi has traveled (Nicki also wasn't huge overseas when Super Bass smashed), we're talking about Bodak being bigger than any Nicki song, which Vonc brought up. What I'm saying is that's not true, since Nicki has a list of songs that have charted higher in more places and have sold more than Bodak
That's all
Well, I agree that "Bodak Yellow" is not bigger than any Nicki Minaj song worldwide. Stateside, it's arguable. Some might say who sold the most is the biggest hit. Some might say who broke records and topped the Billboard chart is the bigger hit. But again, the relevancy of YOUR point is kind of shaky.
It's actually quite silly, because no female rapper making REAL rap music is going to break in Europe if she's not even promoting over there. Facts. Also, the fact you had to jump across the Atlantic Ocean to prove Nicki's solo music is bigger proves Von's point. You literally grabbed your passport, because Cardi is stomping Nicki out and breaking records in 2017.
And yeah, Nicki was touring and visiting Europe when "Super Bass" dropped. Facts Only.
I'm sure at some point over the next 8 years, Cardi will be able to hit #25 in some random European country as well. But since you flying around the world, pull up those European stats for "No Frauds". I hate talking about stuff from years ago.
Stop acting like she didn't release SOLO music THIS YEAR.
Right.
