Is it safe to go out in NYC alone?

I plan on going to NYC in Jan but Im going with people and idk if they'd want to go to the same places I'd go so I might go alone but I don't want to get kidnapped and turned into a sex slave.

I usually ask them where is the paperwork?  Make sure you have some proof of you're doing.  Just to fuck with them.


But I usually give a $1 (if I have money in my pocket) without taking any candy.  I'm selective though.

I felt like a straight up Country bumpkin when I visited to my cousin in Chicago last year. We went into a gas station and we ran into this couple and I said, "Hey, how y'all doing today"
