Messy doesn't always mean ill  intent.  U have some people who are messy unbeknownst to them.  Some people are messy but are trying to be helpful.   Messy is more of a desciptor  for how the events turned out. Evelyn might not have meant to be messy but she definitely was. Her comments snowballed into a whole bunch of mess, so she was MESSY

And I think GHan did get edgier - just at a different time. We got Afrodisiac because of anger she had from a previous relationship (and the joys of a newer one). It ended up being her most critically acclaimed mess.

Let's not forget about "I Tried", "Focus", etc. She definitely gave the gorls a bit of fever when she got pissed off - she threw away the predictable pop/R&B themes and dug all the way down into the DIRT with Timbo.

We got AFRO cuz Atlantic scrapped the album she wanted to release. And because they put who they wanted in place to A&R the album.

No, but it was rumored that her and Robert did the bulk of the work together, so I'd assume it'd sound like the stuff they did together and the stuff they gave Toni Braxton and Kelly Rowland, etc.

Well the fact that Ghan has done songs like Monica?s What Hurts The Most lets me know she was gonna go a more traditional R&B route a bit

To my recollection, there were songs written for Brandy that Monica ended up recording. That doesn't necessarily mean Bran recorded them or ever even got to hear them beforehand.
