And on top of that, this was done and shot over seas

It wasn't even done in America :dead: :dead:

So there's an even HIGHER chance of some oblivious ass EUROPEAN wardrobe person not realizing the racist AMERICANIZED connotations behind "monkey" in regards to African AMERICANS before putting it on that boy.

Like....

I'm with Wendy on this one. Take your time and find the facts goddess.

I think it could go either way. I ain't letting H&M all the way out the dog house and saying "ooh! definitely a mistake!", but I'm not saying that they definitely did this on purpose to cause some mess either.

BITCH

YES!

This smart, beautiful GODDESS :blessed:
vvvbbbnnnnn she literally said what you did last night

It can be like 2-3 idiots making a decision like this without much thought. That?s SO dangerous though :uhh:  this is damn near a conglomerate that you?re affiliated with and they don?t have to go through multiple sources in order to be approved? Ch
I mean their jobs are simply to put the clothes on the models and post them on the website for display.

I think the approvals for designs, styles, etc would actually go through more of a strict process, as that would be directly tied to branding...which any company takes very seriously

Hiring models and having a shoot to display the mess isn't really a huge process....but now it definitely will be for H&M nsdnsnd :plzstop: :plzstop: :plzstop: :plzstop:
dddfffffgggg i have a feeling more companies than just H&M will be paying very close attention to this.

ya rock muh world.

Why do it ?quietly? tho, aren?t causes like this a means for protest. I just don?t understand why she would want to fly under the radar for this.
The bitch fake. Once things died down, she would've magically found that contract she supposedly threw out.  The girl still got H&M on her mess tho, so this is all moot
Damn, it?s sad but it seems she is fake. Just a mug and some tits, no substance

That's about it tbh, and her mug ain't really much to write home about

ya rock muh world.

And now that I think of it

When I heard the boy's mother say "Whats the big deal? " I gave her a pass once I found out she wasn't from America.

Before I knew that (who she was and where she was from etc), I was wondering why the fuck a Black American mother would sit and let her child be photographed in that.

I don't think she's saying "what's the big deal" to be edgy. She really doesn't see the big deal because she hasn't had to deal with the AMERICANIZED negative associations between monkeys and african americans.

So if I am giving the mother a pass, that dumb ass stylist needs a pass too :dead:

This mess goes on in Europe too.

http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/news/opinion/richard-evans-throwing-bananas-at-black-sportsmen-has-been-recognised-as-racism-across-europe-for-decades/news-story/afcb5d4a634119b327507e7616755e0b

It's not just an American thing.

Scott.

Yay for you finding an instance where it occurred Eddie :dead:

Doesn't change the fact that it has a bigger history here in America.

The civil rights movement was in America. Blaxpotation films were made in America.
For crying out loud, the MINSTREL shows were a product of American "imagination".

Racist depictions of Blacks allowed on products such as Aunt Jemima , Uncle Ben

Shall we continue?

This all lends to why a Black person in AMERICA would have little to no excuse not to be familiar with what these things are associated with.

Vonc2002

These excuses and justifications :plzstop:
One minute it's FORMATION  ancestry and heritage and the next it's conversations with lil old white ladies. Looking for Naomi to say sumn but now Nicki shouldn't because this reason and the 3rd. NOW this stuff isn't as hard hitting outside of America. I can't deal with the inconsistency :plzstop:
This thread is about Nicki, an American fckn citizen who has spoke out on race issues in the past. This bitch should have a thought on this. PERIOD! Spare me the rest of this bullshit :plzstop:
This is my pass to say WHATEVER tf I wanna say about the mess she releases so I don't wanna hear SHIT! Baby mama is a mess of a song btw

ppl put so much pressure on celebs to just drop out of multi million dollar deals just because some idiot decides to make a mistake.
that one idiot doesn't represent the whole company.
i wouldn't wrong anybody who would still wanna get their coin.
I shop at H&M and i will continue to shop there.

QuoteShe really doesn't see the big deal because she hasn't had to deal with the AMERICANIZED negative associations between monkeys and african americans.

You can't make an assumption about what this woman has experienced just because she's not from the US.

Also, if you read the article I posted you would see it says this has been going on all over Europe for decades. So it's not just "an instance", and it's also not just an American thing.

I'm not arguing where the history is bigger. That doesn't even matter.

It happens here in the US and in Europe.

ya rock muh world.

Well I am , cuz it kinda does.

The bigger the influence, the less of an excuse you have of being AWARE of its existence.
