And a lot of lower-income families live in "food deserts" ... places where access to healthy, fresh foods is limited.
Growing up in the hood you don't see it that way, it's just normal life to hit up the bodega for a 50 cent soda and some chips.. and mess.
But it's kinda sad when the only way a "Whole Foods" makes it into a neighborhood is when its been "gentrified" enough. At least here in NYC.
So sadly, the food that he's planning on throwing into these boxes isn't much different than what a lot of lower-income households consume already. A lot of processed junk food.
It could actually be somewhat healthier.
I didn't even know the term "food desert" existed until I started keeping an eye on what I put into my mouth and doing a bit of research.
