And you can't bet someone that Barbie will sell.

Barbie sells regardless.

It's not taboo that flamboyant sassy boys like Barbies though, everybody knows that, that's why even little boys are terrified to ask their mothers for a Barbie, cause they would fear their mom and friends would seem his as that  kindof boy.

What kinda Christian butch moms did y'all have? :dead:

Regular non-white, minority households. Not everybody is as free and hippie as white families. They have earned this nonchalant attitude because they don't have to deal with other stifling mess. That's why they kids be so damn edgy. nnnn Kids who talk about their sex life with mom and pop, I will never get.

What are you talking about? :usureuok:

My mom is neither white nor a hippie. She just saw it as toys. :diddraispoot:

You faggots were uncomfortable with seeing this end feminine little bby play with a doll and give a kii owt mess with his judys. I support any image of gay, regardless of stereotype. Same as the images being put out there of POC. I may not agree with a lot of actions but I will stand by my people in unity because I will never make anyone feel as if they can't be themselves. I would NEVER conform to standards to make others feel comfortable. Ever.

That's great, and then you wont sell dolls.  :letsmessfag:

n

Im not trying to sell dolls love

But Mattel is, and we were discussing the elements in the commercial they used.....to sell dolls.

Now do you see how off topic you are?

I'm not off topic. You all just don't want to accept and love yourself for who you are. Better yet don't wanna accept and love others for who they may be. That's my whole point.

Topics like these shouldn't even be of a debate or discuss.

That's cute for you but most boys who get a Barbie doll will have to face stigmata of being considered a flamboyant sassy queen. Would my mother have bought it, I guess, but I wouldn't enjoy the way she'd perceive me.

I don't get your point. Why do you people desire mainstream acceptance so bad?! If you're so masculine and under the radar why would and does this offend you? Live in your truth. Even if you aren't Fem, you're still a homosexual at the end of the day.
Its not really about mainstream acceptance though. We're just talking about what would really sell that doll, and what exactly their target audience may be

Maybe they could have showed two different types of males or something, idk. I definitely wasn't offended though.

What's the difference because this child they used was the appropriate child for this type of doll.
"Appropriate child"
"This type of doll"

So a masculine boy wouldn't be the right "type" for this commercial? :dead:

That was the irony I was wanting you to catch in your viewpoints earlier bby. Internal Stereotyping bby

And thats a point for an entirely different topic. Thats the last time I'll say it. Never go into business.

Regular boys aren't playing with Barbie dolls. Do you all not know that Marketing teams do months and months or research on how to market and brand products for mainstream appeal?! These are individuals who gather data and statistics based on research then create marketing strategies behind the data then sell to the masses.

Miranda

Lonz point is that "fem" boys would want to hide behind the regular boy mask and still get their life playing the Barbie without the fem stigma. You guys speak besides eachother.

I do agree though that this particular Barbie required a sassy protagonist, male or female. A down to earth, laid back girl or boy wouldn't fit with the philosophy of the product.

My parents wouldn't have cared either way. While my dad is very stern and masculine and my mommy is strict as well but they're also  progressive. They feel if you deprive a child of something that it only fuels their curiosity more. So don't make a big deal out of shit and allow them to be aware of everything. Prepare them.

Nothing about that made anyone uncomfortable. what're you even talking about in here :dead: it's like ur posting about another topic entirely

It would have been refreshing to see something different though. America only gets to see one type of gay man on television, it seems. It's just ...  Typical, and predictable lol but no ones offended

!!!!
Exactly. This is the exact point I was making when I called him a cliche.

I'm not offended in the least. I'm happy and supportive of progress.
I just think there was a better way to do it.

Was the boy really that extreme? It's not like he had arched eyebrows and a pink mohawk. :dead:
