Mariah has made it very clear that she always wanted to do what Mary did musically and was able to do that in 1997 , she even stated the one song she wishes she wrote was seven days ,, Mary had the highest R&b song of all time with Mariah being number 2

Mary is truly that bitch. It doesn't matter how much she's sold in comparison to someone else, she's respected in every regard you can think of..

No matter the lies you tell yourself, Mary music became a major influence on Mariah Carey's sound. When Uptown Records dropped Mary's first #1 singles, "You Remind Me" and "Real Love," she kicked open the door on a new sound that would forever influence the way R&B was approached, especially for female artists like Mariah "whistleblowing" Carey.

She truly was and still is that bitch! As Puff stated several times...she's the reason for so many artists existence and relevancy. Take Bad Boy Records as an example...there would be no Bad Boy without MJB and she was NEVER signed to that label. Her talent, success, influence and respect in the industry is undeniable.
