And although the word choice is offensive to some this is really about why homosexuality is so unforgivable and unacceptable while other sins are glazed over.

I can't be openly homosexual in the church community, can't bring my male companion around, can't even be myself or talk about and discuss something that's apart of who I am in my daily life. It won't be accepted. If I announced my sexuality in church no one is gonna ask me, "well do you have sex?", I'll just be put in a category and shunned/discriminated against.

Kinda sad how cheaters, liars, thieves, whores, abusers etc can be welcomed with open arms and not hear about it again but gays can't. The former are all negative things and have a negative impact on the sinner and the people around them, being a faggot doesn't.

I do think the Bible and the Quran are very valuable books though and provide knowledge and context. I think like any other book you should not take them for face value but they be having TRUTH in it.

This is how I've started to feel. I don't strive to live my life based on the bible anymore, but it has lots of great lessons and provides a great basis for morality overall. But the contextual significance isn't applicable across the board in modern times.
