But the main issue is that we need more screenwriters, producers, and directors of color within the film industry. There are lots of talented folks out there and if they break out by doing indie films that could go to film festivals such as Sundance, Tribeca, Cannes, etc. That's how you make moves. Keep pushing. But there are white actors who don't get a lot of work as well and they've won Academy Awards. Nicholas Cage is a prime example and he's part of film royalty by being related to Francis Ford Coppola. He doesn't book big roles either and he won an Oscar 20 years ago for Leaving Las Vegas.
