Movies set in Nubia
Movies set in Haiti about the revolution
Akan and Yourba royalty movies (where most of you nigs come from, not Egypt)
Movies based on Voudon and Magic
A PROPER Egyptian movie, not that whitewashed Cleopatra movie
I'm still holding out for an A list all star all black thriller movie like the Oceans series
There should have a been a spin off Marie Lavues character from AHS, I don't know why Angela Bassest hasn't been angling for that

Idk about a boycott but I'm over the slave/oppression depictions as well.

To be honest after "The Butler" I was kind of over it.

Black culture is extremely rich and there are so many more stories that can be told about struggle and strife aside from being whipped by Massa. Even if racism is something they want to depict we have sooooo many examples in modern times and those things need to be placed in proper context.

"Higher Learning" is a great example of depicting a modern struggle for blacks that didn't have an exclusive cast. It was diverse and depicted kids striving for education while batteling racism in a very fresh way.

I agree if they're stuck on slavery and oppression, at least let's make it relevant to this day and age

I'm sick of this slavery mess though. It's really giving white folks the impression that that was the be-all and end-all, nothing happened after. I see it on my timeline.

There needs to be more movies about all of the ripple effects of slavery. I wanna see a Jim Crow mess that doesn't include MLK, cause I know people that think racism ended when he was assassinated
