Regardless of race... I can only speak on my interests and what helped mold me.
I'm only going to discuss the Lee Daniels shows, since that's whats going brought up.
I'll say it ONCE again. I LOVE SWV. Period. Regardless of RACE. Or even GENDER, since u mentioned AA female.
When I heard Lee Daniels mention that show... I immediately thought "Oh, I see them doing an early 90s slay with a black girl group slaying the scene". Guess why? That's what I GREW UP ON. That SIMPLE.
That away RACE. And just focus on my interests and experience with that.
You don't have to be the same race to want that race to be represented.
You can't be the close minded.
And you also have to remember, I am posting on a predominately black website. If I didn't have the same interests, or artists that we connect with, I would have left a long time ago. But we all seem to have common interests in music, film, tv... I love that.
And I can't apologize for thinking I was gonna see a SWV group instead of a 3LW group.
Cause it won't real or genuine. And I FEEL THAT WAY because I grew up that way. Regardless of race.
Your UP-BRINGING and what YOU'RE EXPOSED TO makes all the difference.
I've seen interracial relationships throughout my family for DECADES. And I have seen many culturals connect and BLEND to the best of their abilities. That's WHAT I KNOW. That's MY experience. It shaped me, I'm sure, for having a diverse, more open minded outlook. I don't know?
Maybe if this was "One Direction Source" and I was on a board with a different demographic, I'd be discussing Leo Dicap, or Wyona Ryder more often... cause I love them too. But here I get to talk about Angela Bassett and Nia Long, who I love to. It's just a common area of interests for the demographic I'm in. RACE doesn't have to determine who you connect to. That's how it you're making it seem. But I could be wrong.
