Yeah this is pretty much the definition of not iconic lol

CHOKE

Yes by default.

But Icons really shouldn't be selling 30k in their prime

SouravMay

Yh but I mean cyndi lauper is also an icon. It's a cute title

I'm actually gonna say no. I think a big part of being iconic is the ability to evolve....and he never really has past Confessions.

Like forreal, break it down
He ain't the best dancer and isn't some world renowned performer

He isn't known as having a really amazing voice

He hasn't had good music in forever, nor has he ever been known for making like really iconic music.

He has nothing to sustain his career or legacy which is why his fall from grace has been  so iconic
This is my pass to say WHATEVER tf I wanna say about the mess she releases so I don't wanna hear SHIT! Baby mama is a mess of a song btw

SouravMay

He doesn't even have iconic pop culture moments... he just always was there nn

But you guys dont feel like once you become so massive, the title just sticks?

Usher is one artist that will always mentioned when talking about music from the 2000s, and R&B males period

I wanna say so but he's kinda borderline. He's more of a veteran imo, due to his longevity and period of success. He will be remembered for his looks, his performance skills, and his success, which includes his biggest singles/albums/videos etc. But Usher doesn't really offer any distinct vocal stylings and his music wasn't really innovative. He lacks the proper impact and influence necessary to that of an icon/legend.

SouravMay

Male R&B singers except for Bert or the neo soul gorls have all been boring tho

SouravMay

So by default he's up there. He's like the basic bland prototype personality free male R&B star. Slick dancing, corny videos, the whole thing

SouravMay

All the artistically useless gorls like Omarion or Mindless Behavior are in that usher vein

Thats why i get why SOMEONE could say it because i agree that he is synonymous with the 2000s, but after so long without something to refer back to, that won't last imo. Like malcolm said, he doesn't even have any really iconic moments to reflect back on. At some point he'll just be a moment in time and not something we refer back to because there's no reason to :dead:
