Usher never took any artistic risks...

he started with an artistic risk
singing about sex at 13 yrs old
and no one knew for sure Crunk & b would pop off
he wanted Burn as the 1st single (which kinda paved the way for all the B Cox ballads)
instead of Yeah!, but he took the risk and that paid off

Usher mimicked Michael to the extent that Brandy mimicked Whitney
niggas need to stop

:uhh:
:kii:
Brandy was done "mimicking" whitney houston after her 1st album. Usher still doesnt have a style or sound of his own
This is my pass to say WHATEVER tf I wanna say about the mess she releases so I don't wanna hear SHIT! Baby mama is a mess of a song btw

No. I wouldn't call him an "icon" so to say, but DEFINITELY a "superstar". He accomplished a lot in his career. As far as icon, I don't think he ever made his OWN lane or created something to be FOLLOWED. He always kinda mimicked his faves (ie. Michael Jackson). And I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with that, because there isn't. It just doesn't fit the mold of what I would consider an "icon". He made a mark on the industry no doubt.
The way everyone is saying the same thing :plzstop:
He ain't an icon, just a nigga that's been around for a long time, that's it

!!!
That's why I gave side-eye to his comment.

Brandy isn't a Whitney clone.

Usher been tryna give MJ era after era.

I wouldn't call Justin Timberlake an icon either. He & Usher are kinda in the same vein.

Justin just hasn't fallen off yet.
