I can?t really recall the last time Ashanti made a significant impact on pop culture.

Guinness Book of World Records says hello.

Okay holding the number one and two spots on the hot 100...which is a remarkable feat, but how long ago was that? Janet said it best, what have you done lately?

I know some of y?all are saying current relevancy isn?t the topic, but doesn?t that relate to pop culture contributions overall??
that was actually about having the biggest first week sales of a debut female album
but glad you named another big feat

BAPHOMET.

The DeBarge sample alone in Foolish makes it more iconic and it def still gets played on the radio.

R y?all retarded
i don't even remember how Foolish goes v

Ci's music was certified in 2004 and 2015. Ashanti's last cert was probably before 2008

No one remembers her songs or can even tell you the title. Baby sounds like Always There When You Call sounds like Happy. Sorry.
Baby I?m def more so Team Ci. Ashanti to me is def like a nostalgia act. But she was bigger and her songs are def more memorable.  She started to fizzle down around 04 when Ci came along.

I just can?t see how y?all talking about some ?Goodies is played more than Foolish?

No ma?am.

Yea, Im definitely team Ci and love Ashanti as well, but Foolish was definitely bigger, still is, and more timeless. I'd definitely say I hear Promise more than Goodies..

jtwoeleven

So...she went from being a rival to Beyonc? for a hot minute to...whatever she is today...is that it??

So, to the ones in here who don?t like Ciara, are you all admitting that today in 2018, that Ciara is more relevant than Ashanti?
xcxccxccxcx

I dont think anyone is arguing against that..

We gotta be able to DEFINE legacy in order to participate and move forward in this discussion

A legacy encompasses more than a music career. That's not where the buck stops for Ci

Goodies is still bigger than anything Ashanti has ever done

Russ and Future?s baby mother/ model?

But who is listening to foolish today? Goodies still gets play

Foolish does too. A lot of Ashanti's songs still get play and that's including her features.

They?re both on the same level tbh but Ciara has found away to stay afloat in terms of relevancy

I can agree to this in a way.
