Yall acting Ike black artists don't get the "push" that Adele ' s label is giving. Beyonc? and Alicia Keys are great examples of artists that get the same push. The only difference here, Adele just came off of an 11 million selling album. Not to mention, even AFTER the album was done being promoted, it STAYED selling. The bish was sitting up home with her feet up about to give birth and people were still buying.

There are also white artists that don't get the same push also (Jojo for instance, has been trying to push the R&B soul thing and wasn't working with her label)

Can't a bitch just be TALENTED and likeable??

You have a point.

Stewie

jojo is late

adulle is talented but not talented ENOUGH to do 3.5 million....a lot of black female artists DESTROY her in terms of tone, power, versaility, stage presence, blah blah...

same goes with taylor

generally, blacks have to be way WAY more interesting/talented to get the same success/ recognition

look at iggy...thankfully she's finished but look how terrible and corny she was....and the fact that a lot of you were going up for that mess just because it was 'popular'

you're missing the point.....she deserves success...but 5 times more success than the top black female artist?

its the inequality that people are annoyed by.

this is such a dumb post
yeah, stewie's a fckin idiot

If Jazmine or Fantasia sang 'Hello' they wouldn't be selling 3 million first week
doesn't that have to do with fanbase quantities? doesn't that separate adele apart from a lot of R&B gorls?

PART of the reason (not sure how much) she's so successful, is definitely because she's white.

if she were black she'd maybe still be uber successful, but not to this extent. She's super relatable because of her personality and what she sings about, yes, but also because she looks like SO many of the girls that are buying her albums lol thats a big deal to people. period.

∧ ∨ ∩ ∪

If anything people are sheep and want to be apart of something. He label wasn't going to let this album flop after selling so many copies of the last record so they went into strategic marketing mode. They set up her return and album perfectly. Mainstream Media also played apart because the whole "Adele could sell a million first week" mess was being made a big deal before the album date was even released. Then as time went on the increased the numbers getting the public excited. Hence people rushing out to stores to purchase being apart of her "movement" It's genius actually but she's an average artist that's only getting by based on the color of her skin.

Genesis

I recall some members stating that if your non black dating a black person, you should feel obligated to participate in topics such as black lives matter.

So does this not apply to adele, despite her making millions off black culture :howfestive:

BAPHOMET.

IDK.

I just feel like the minor uproar has nothing to do with Adele being white.
Because it doesn't really matter who the artist is (white, black, Latin, chinese etc) people would still see a problem with the success.
Just because they dont use.

Like how its kinda always "(insert successful ethnic artist) doesn't really deserve their success. It should be (insert random).
The former's music isn't all that  :overit: . Talented sure...But."

its always going to be that unless it's an artist a person likes.

MAY

No shade, but from my observation folks didn't
really LATCH onto 'Dele until Amy passed away.

Just sayin...

She was definitely the lesser of the two when Amy was alive.

It would have been interesting to see if Adele would have quite as big if Amy had gotten clean.

I would believe that if Amy was a huge seller. But she wasn't.

But why do you think that? Im actually curious.

GYNandTONIC

But how can you say Adele doesnt deserve to sell her 3 mill, when that's what she SOLD honestly!

No bundle package w/ her tour
No surprise roll out
Wasnt a 99c black friday mess.

People found her intriguing enough black, white, old, and young to buy her music based off her and her voice!

So the real issue is, you simply dont like her and dont understand why that many people invested.

Furthermore, Wheres this push yall speak of because there honestly wasnt one. Taylors release is what I call a push! Adelel video was bout 20 bucks, and shes barely performed.

If it was Bey yall wouldnt say this! Yall would praise. When in reality Beyonce doesnt deserve half her manipulated sales and has TRASH music!
