sssssssssssss

ppl from the hood that use excuses piss me off

they have no idea how much discipline and self-control it takes to exhibit civility

and that's the beauty of growth, and you feel so much better after certain situations

do they think it's easy when you're in meetings, and you got Susan and Randy popping off at the mouth because they've never been in a scuffle ... and the manager is eyeing you down, and all you can do is use words

and you start shaking like Kandi because all you really want to do is clear the fckn room

My life in the fucking military  :plzstop: :plzstop: :plzstop:

Could barely use your words, had to be careful with those too.

MelMel

Afro meet me by the Wendy's on Jamaica so I can beat your ass and then get some nuggets afterwards

Opposites Attract.

Black people are so fucking annoying.......

It's unconditional, these days you know....

I hope some of you realize that one can be proud of their background and still make moves in their present

Just because you're doing "well" as an adult outside of the hood doesn't mean you forget where the fuck you came from.

What kinda bullshit am I reading from niggas in here

Umm hun. I think your missing the MARK, no one is ashamed of being from the hood or where they grew up. At least I'm not.

But I'm damn sure not gonna turn my head and act like that's the place to be and put on this pedestal. I'm not turning my nose up at anyone who wasn't raised in those environments and telling them they not apart of an entire race because they didn't have to experience what majority of that race went through, Because that was the INITIAL discussion is about. That's all.

L0NZ.

I can't believe this is a discussion anywhere

Like this young man said it's a real thing, to act as if it isn't is simply delusional. But whatever to make you feel down and aprt of something.

I really feel like this was directed at me

Blaming black people solely for all their ills is low-hanging fruit. It's easy to beat down a perpetual, raciali bottom caste. What I don't think some may realize is that "crabs in a barrel" statement in regards to black people actually reinforces anti black racism imo. A barrel is not the natural habitat for crabs. If you have a pot full of crabs in boiling water, and they claw at each other to escape, do you think they're doing so because they hate each other, or because the water is hot and killing them?

James Baldwin said it best when he said to be a black person in America and relatively conscious means to be almost always in a state of rage. We have been in the boiling pot of white privilege for half a millennium and there's still much work to be done.

see and that's where both sides have to meet imo

the crabs don't know they're crabs
and they don't know what a bucket is

but humans can understand that concept
and applying that to this analogy, you get a whole bunch of crabs who have gotten content clawing at each other.

beyond the issue of demon whites who put the "crabs" in this bucket....  the problem will always lie in the arena of, "how to get out."

I think it's important for Black people to just give one another a bit of space and have some understanding

Yes, Shalequa may be excited that she's moved into a predominately White neighborhood, but maybe she's excited for that opportunity because she feels it's the safest place for her kids to grow up, and because that neighborhood has the best school district for them... based on her research.  That's just a mom being a mom.

And yes, Dashawn may be proud he's from the hood, but being proud of that doesn't mean he's celebrating poverty or broken homes. It could simply mean that as part of his childhood, it holds a special place in his heart. And he doesn't want to let go of that - no matter how "far" he goes in life.

We just need to be more understanding of one another and a little less quick to throw labels on tea.

I know a Black woman who posts so many of her moments on social media .... She posts a lot about her house (which is in a great neighborhood), her great job, a lot of gifts, sneakers, etc. etc.

I've seen people judge and talk about her, and I've had to interrupt them to INJECT some understanding into their conversation about her.

Yeah she does all of this, but maybe she's just celebrating what she has. She was a young Black girl kicked out of her house at 16 for being pregnant.
What I see is a woman that is simply in awe of what she's accomplished, in spite of what expectations may have been for her future - expectations set by herself or others.

Personally, I'm not the type to post about belongings and "floss" or whatever. But have some understanding for this sister . You know her story.
She's living within her means. SHe can afford everything she posts, so I don't see an issue with her sharing. Let her celebrate her tea. This is a dream come true for her.
